QPR vs Burnley prediction, betting tips & odds

Kick-off: 1300, 11/12/2022

Stadium: Loftus Road

TV: Sky Sports

Burnley have been sitting pretty at the top of the table while the Championship has been on hold for the World Cup but that might not be the case when they return to action at managerless QPR on Sunday.

Sheffield United could hit the summit with a win over Huddersfield 24 hours before the teams line up at Loftus Road.

Clarets boss Vincent Kompany will be keen to reclaim pole position but he might have to wait as we like the 23/10 for a draw in west London and that is our first QPR vs Burnley prediction.

QPR Odds

The break came at the right time for the Londoners as they were on a horror run from just before Halloween until all eyes turned to Qatar.

Since a home win over Wigan on October 22, they lost four of five, scored just one goal and took one point from a goalless draw with Norwich.

They also lost their manager during the shutdown when Michael Beale headed for Scotland and the top job at another Rangers.

As it stands, no timeframe has been put on naming his successor and interim boss Paul Hall has had time to work with the players.

He was pleased with what he saw in a 2-1 friendly win over Scottish Premiership outfit Livingston and will want more of the same against Burnley.

Hall can point to his side’s table-topping form before the winter wobble – eight wins, one draw and two defeats in their 11 games – and they will be out to make a fast start in front of their own fans.

Their visitors have conceded more than a goal a game away from home this term (13 in 10) so looking at the QPR vs Burnley odds, the hosts to score in the opening 15 minutes is 19/4.

Burnley Odds

These two haven’t played each other since May 2016 so there’s little point looking at the head-to-head record.

This season, Burnley’s two defeats have been at the hands of Watford and Sheffield United – two teams QPR got the better of.

Before the break Burnley had won eight of 10 in all competitions, losing just one to the Blades, and Kompany should be able to welcome back a couple of players, with Scott Twine and Darko Churlinov training.

It is no surprise that Kompany is being linked with the Belgium job and an approach has been touted since they were dumped out of the World Cup.

Kompany is on a long-term deal though, still a young boss at 37 and flying in his current role after just two defeats in 21 this season.

A third loss is unlikely this week so we’re adding 13/1 for the hosts to be winning at the break and the game to finish all square to our QPR vs Burnley betting tips.
