Luton vs Norwich prediction, odds & betting tips

Kick-off: 1945, 26/12/2022

Stadium: Kenilworth Road

TV: Sky Sports

Luton have been draw specialists at Kenilworth Road this season and another stalemate could be on the cards when they entertain Norwich.

The Hatters have shared the spoils in a Championship-high seven home matches, including the last three fixtures played at this venue.

Punters can get 23/10 for the scores to finish level here and that is our first Luton vs Norwich prediction.

Luton Town Odds

Luton are just below mid-table after winning only one of their past seven league games.

Last weekend’s home clash with Millwall had to be postponed due to a frozen pitch, so they will have had a good rest since going down 2-1 at Middlesbrough.

That was a first game in charge for Rob Edwards, who built up a good reputation as part of the England youth set-up and at Forest Green Rovers.

He began the season with Watford but was the latest early casualty on the Vicarage Road conveyor belt of bosses.

Town took the lead at the Riverside thanks to a brilliant individual effort from Jordan Clark but in-form Boro levelled almost immediately through Chuba Akpom.

Luton made life difficult for themselves when Amari’i Bell was sent off with 18 minutes to play and Matt Crooks struck a stoppage-time decider.

Edwards, who replaced Southampton-bound Nathan Jones during the World Cup break, said: “The lads are all disappointed, they’re flat in there, as you’d expect.

“I’m not saying we deserved to win the game by any stretch but I thought the effort and the endeavour of the lads was different class.”

The Hatters are never short of spirit and have gone seven home games without tasting defeat.

Only two of their Kenilworth Road stalemates have been goalless, so 17/5 for a score draw is worth the extra risk from the Luton vs Norwich odds.

Norwich City Odds

Norwich eased the pressure on Dean Smith when signing off for the World Cup with a win at Swansea but he is back in the hot-seat after returning to action with a 2-0 home loss to Blackburn.

The Canaries remain in the play-off positions after that reverse but large sections of supporters were quick to voice their displeasure at a below-par display.

They made disparaging remarks about Smith’s style of play and demanded his dismissal.

“There is a narrative here about our style of play which won’t go away – and football is all about opinions, I totally understand that,” said Smith.

“I didn’t expect it to be as vociferous as it was and it was a shame that it happened during the game, when we were trying to get back into it, as well as the end.

“That doesn’t help. Sometimes I think we have to be two or three up to satisfy some people.

“The players had to play through a lot of fear at times and it was not nice to see. There were players getting stick who have been in two title-winning sides. It was tough out there.”

Hitting the road may actually help City to control their nerves better and they have claimed five away wins this term.

This is not an easy place to pick up maximum points, though, and 11/2 for a 1-1 draw completes our Luton vs Norwich betting tips.
