Fourth-placed Norwich can jump above faltering Blackburn in third if they secure back-to-back wins since returning from the World Cup break.
Rovers will travel to Norfolk reeling from a 4-1 defeat to Preston in the Lancashire derby at Ewood Park and without a victory at Carrow Road since 1999.
We like 13/5 for a home triumph and both teams to score for our initial Norwich vs Blackburn prediction.
Teemu Pukki scored his eighth goal of the season to help Norwich secure a 1-0 win over Swansea in south Wales.
The Finland striker had not managed a goal in his five previous matches but struck inside the opening minute as Swansea paid the price for a lacklustre opening after a month’s inactivity.
It was the perfect response to the 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough before the break and manager Dean Smith praised the discipline of his players.
He said: “I was really pleased with what we did without the ball. It’s something I have been speaking about for a long time.
“When you come here and play a possession-based team, the message is you need to be more organised and disciplined and we were.
“We got the goal from the corner and in the second half we decided to hang on rather than be more progressive. I thought we were really hard to play against. I said to the players afterwards that 1-0 is my favourite result. I’ll take 5-0, but 1-0 is my favourite.”
While Norwich have now won three of their last five matches, they have triumphed just once in six matches on home soil.
Looking at the 15/4 for the hosts to oblige 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 from the multiple correct score market.
Blackburn were comprehensively outfought and outplayed by Preston as their six-game winning run at Ewood Park came to a shuddering halt.
Ben Woodburn’s cool 17th-minute finish set the visitors on their way and Ched Evans swept home from close range minutes after the restart to put Preston in control.
Rovers rallied and got back into the game with a predatory finish from Bradley Dack in the 55th minute but North End clinically put their hosts to the sword with two goals in the space of three second-half minutes through Evans’ powerful header and Ben Whiteman’s deflected drive.
Head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson said: “It was a very disappointing performance. When we played the ball, we didn’t play quick enough. Didn’t have enough players who were prepared to make runs forward.
“We’ve had some great wins at Ewood Park, some great performances. Today was very bad and I feel sorry for our supporters. The players need to take that and that is not going to happen again because we’ve created a bit of a fortress here but it was not a fortress at all.
“We’re very disappointed of course, which we should be after the performance. We were second best with everything.”
Blackburn remain third despite a run of three defeats in their last four matches but only Burnley, Middlesbrough and Wigan have a higher percentage in the both teams to score category than Norwich.
Let’s finish off our Norwich vs Blackburn betting tips by taking 17/10 for a home win and over 2.5 goals in the game.
