Leeds have had the upper hand against Reading in recent times, winning three and drawing two of their last five meetings, and United get the nod to come out on top again on Saturday.

Both teams recorded impressive Championship wins before the international break, but Leeds just look to have the edge in consistency after going seven games without defeat.

Garry Monk’s men are fancied at 7/4 in our Reading vs Leeds betting tips.

A Look At Reading’s Betting Odds

Reading cemented their place in the top five when winning 2-0 at Sheffield Wednesday, with goals from Yann Kermorgant and Adrian Popa helping the Royals to pull five points clear of the Owls.

However, they do look slightly flattered by that result, as Ali Al Habsi had to make several important saves and Popa only pounced on the break in the closing stages after home keeper Keiren Westwood had gone up for a corner.

“Part of our game plan was to keep the ball and make them impatient,” commented Jaap Stam. “We succeeded in doing that. We defended, kept it very tight and didn’t give them a lot of space to play. We’re very realistic in what we can achieve. We’re up there and we’re going to give it a shot, so hopefully we can stay up there.”

Reading had failed to score in four of their previous five games, though, suffering three defeats. We like odds of 13/4 for Leeds to win to nil.

A Look At Leeds’ Betting Odds

Chris Wood’s prowess in front of goal proved the difference in a tight affair when Leeds beat second-placed Brighton 2-0 at Elland Road, with the striker’s brace pushing United eight points clear of seventh-placed Fulham in the race to make the play-offs.

United will have been frustrated to only draw with QPR on home turf the time before, but their other recent results have all been strong, with wins over Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham, plus draws at Fulham and Ipswich.

There isn’t anything sexy about the way the Whites go about things, but they are well drilled, hard to break down and always capable of pinching a goal through the division’s leading marksman Wood.

Leeds beat Reading 2-0 in mid-December and are 23/2 to prevail by the same scoreline in the Reading vs Leeds odds.
