Leeds will be hoping to put the pressure on their promotion rivals when they head to QPR in Saturday’s early Championship game.
The roles were reversed last week when Brentford won the lunchtime kick-off before Leeds and West Brom dropped points later in the day, so the Whites will be desperate to get back to winning ways.
QPR have scored plenty of goals recently but have problems in defence, so an away win and both teams to score at 39/20 is our opening QPR vs Leeds prediction.
A Look At Queens Park Rangers’ Betting Odds
The televised game at Loftus Road should not be short of entertainment based on QPR’s results this season.
Only leaders West Brom have scored more goals than Rangers, yet they are 15th in the table with a negative goal difference due to a defence which has conceded more goals than any team other than rock-bottom Luton.
Three of the teams currently in the top seven have already been to Loftus Road and all won by an aggregate score of 12-2, while Rangers were also beaten on their travels at Leeds, Brentford and Fulham.
They have the firepower to cause problems at least, with striker Nahki Wells and highly-rated midfielder Eberechi Eze both in double figures for the season.
We just feel they will be carved open too easily against a Leeds team which is so good in possession and which will punish them on the break if they commit too many men forward.
Their 14 home games have produced 55 goals and over 3.5 goals looks worth adding to our QPR vs Leeds betting tips at 27/20.
A Look At Leeds United’s Betting Odds
Leeds remain the favourites in bwin’s Championship outright winner betting but their fans could be forgiven for growing increasingly nervous.
Fears of burnout due to Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play have been a constant theme since he came to the club and it was two late goals that proved their undoing in the 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
Leeds had plenty of chances to take control of the game and eventually paid for their misses, with Bielsa saying: “I can understand the anxiety amongst the crowd when key moments to win the game do not go as we want.
“There is a sense of doubt around the team when things are not going to plan, and I do not mean the players or fans.”
We’re keen not to read too much into last week’s late loss though and Leeds have generally got stronger as the game has gone on during away matches this season.
They are yet to lose the second half on their travels and have won the second 45 minutes in nine of their 14 away games.
It’s also worth noting that QPR have been slow starters against the top teams this season. Against the current top six, they have been trailing in five and drawing in two at half-time in their seven games, scoring just one goal in that time.
The Whites are 7/4 to be in front at both half-time and full-time in the QPR vs Leeds odds but let’s aim higher with our final tip and take 7/2 for Leeds to win both halves, as they did in November’s meeting at Elland Road.
