Burnley and Huddersfield will have new managers in the dugout when they kick off the new Championship season on Friday night.
Vincent Kompany has succeeded Sean Dyche at the Clarets with the job of rebuilding the club following relegation, while Danny Schofield took over the Terriers after Carlos Corberan’s shock resignation.
An away win at 2.60 is our first Huddersfield vs Burnley prediction.
Huddersfield Town Odds
Huddersfield were rocked when Corberan handed in his resignation just three weeks before the start of the new campaign.
The former Leeds coach had an impressive first full season in charge when he led the club to a third-placed finish and then the play-off final at Wembley, where they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.
Schofield was promoted from first-team coach to the top job and has already seen some of his best players depart.
He said: “My wife gave me the best bit of advice, she said just make sure you enjoy it. That’s what I intend on doing.”
Forest signed Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo, while loanees Danel Sinani and Levi Colwill returned to parent clubs Norwich and Chelsea respectively and Naby Sarr was released.
The Terriers have delved into the English Football League to bring in some new players, including Cheltenham centre-back Will Boyle, MK Dons midfielder David Kasumu and AFC Wimbledon playmaker Jack Rudoni.
Huddersfield came from behind to beat Burnley 2-1 in the FA Cup in January, ending a winless streak against the Clarets.
An away win with both teams scoring is 5.25 in our Huddersfield vs Burnley odds.
Burnley Odds
Like Huddersfield, Burnley have had a summer of change with players coming and going.
Star men like Nick Pope, Ben Mee, James Tarkowski, Nathan Collins and Wout Weghorst have all departed to herald a new era under Kompany.
The Belgian has raided former employers Manchester City and Anderlecht for CJ Egan-Riley, Arijanet Muric, Josh Cullen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Scott Twine and Luke McNally have made the step up to the Championship after impressive seasons at MK Dons and Oxford respectively.
The likes of Connor Roberts, Charlie Taylor, Josh Brownhill, Ashley Westwood, Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes have all stayed at Turf Moor, leaving Kompany with decent options.
The ex-defender may still lose Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil, but Burnley should still be fighting for an immediate return to the Premier League.
The visitors to win 2-1 is 10.00 and completes our Huddersfield vs Burnley betting tips.
