CF Montreal return home after taking seven points from three successive road trips and are expected to maintain that momentum in Saturday’s all-Canadian showdown.

Back-to-back wins at Cincinnati and New York Red Bulls have sparked Montreal’s season into life and they have climbed to ninth in the Eastern Conference.

Vancouver Whitecaps are languishing in 13th in the West with just one win from six games so a home win at 1.70 looks a solid pick as our opening CF Montreal vs Vancouver prediction.

CF Montreal Odds

Montreal may be clear favourites this weekend but must improve defensively if they are to challenge for the play-offs this season.

They have conceded the joint-most goals in the MLS so far with 15 conceded.

Their attackers are limiting the damage, though, and the entertainment continued last week as Montreal came from behind to win 2-1 at New York Red Bulls, having previously won 4-3 at Cincinnati which followed a 3-3 draw at Atlanta United.

Head coach Wilfried Nancy said: “I don’t believe in luck. What happened these past two games were a consequence of the positivity within the team. It’s about the fact the players believe in the project and our style of play.

“I think the players did something great against New York because it’s hard to win here. I’m really happy for them.”

Backing a home win and both teams to score looks an obvious way to get behind the hosts at a bigger price of 3.40 in the CF Montreal vs Vancouver odds.

Vancouver Whitecaps Odds

Vancouver were also involved in a thriller last weekend but came out on the losing side as they went down 3-2 at home to Portland.

The Whitecaps were the better team for long periods but were unable to make the most of their dominance despite having 17 shots to Portland’s five.

One reason for optimism was Brian White playing the full 90 minutes for the first time this season as he continues to build up his fitness.

The former Red Bulls striker is yet to get off the mark this season but ended the previous campaign in fine form with 11 goals in his last 17 games.

It is surely only a matter of time before he starts to find the net again, especially with Ryan Gauld providing the service, and we’re backing White at 5.00 to be the first Whitecaps goalscorer here as the last of our CF Montreal vs Vancouver betting tips.
