Kick-off: 1930 EDT, 17/08/2022

Stadium: BMO Field

Toronto and New England both have some good recent form behind them ahead of their midweek clash in Canada.

Bob Bradley’s side ended a dismal run with three wins and a draw from their last four outings, while the Revolution have taken eight points from a possible 12.

The Reds are strong at home, though, and 1.95 for them to win is our first Toronto FC vs New England Revolution prediction.

Toronto FC Odds

Ten defeats in 14 games left Toronto languishing towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference midway through last month.

But the arrival of their two major signings, Italy internationals Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi, has inspired an upturn in fortunes.

Insigne has scored twice in four matches, while Bernardeschi has netted three to help Toronto beat Charlotte 4-0, Nashville 4-3 and Portland 3-1, as well as draw 0-0 with New England.

The pair were both on target against the Timbers, securing the win with goals in the last 11 minutes, after Josecarlos Van Rankin cancelled out Jonathan Osario’s ninth of the campaign.

That was a great result for us, as our match preview featured a trio of successful selections.

Bradley told Toronto’s official website: “We do have two lapses in the second half, but before it goes to 1-1, we have a number of really good chances to get to 2-0.

“And then the response at 1-1 is very good. The third one finishes the game and the concentration at the end of the game was quite good.”

Despite the goalless stalemate with New England on July 31, Toronto have netted 11 times in those three wins.

We are expecting goals this time around and over 3.5 is 2.45 in the Toronto FC vs New England Revolution odds.

New England Revolution Odds

New England had a slight wobble from the end of June through July with no wins in six matches, although admittedly drawing four.

But they have bounced back strongly with back-to-back wins, beating Orlando City 3-0 and DC United 1-0.

Carles Gil’s 18th-minute goal secured victory over Wayne Rooney’s struggling side, while Dorde Petrovic claimed a fourth consecutive clean sheet, to leave the Revs mid-table in the Eastern Conference.

Despite their impressive defending of late, though, New England have conceded in nine of their 12 away matches and scored in 10.

Six of their last nine meetings with Toronto have also ended with both teams scoring.

A home win with each side hitting the back of the net is 3.4 and that completes our Toronto FC vs New England Revolution betting tips.
