Toronto’s resurgence has seen them pick up seven points out of nine and Portland may find it hard to halt the Reds’ momentum at BMO Field.
Admittedly, the Timbers are on a 10-match unbeaten run but after three straight draws, the feeling is they are now due a defeat.

Toronto followed up a 4-0 drubbing of Charlotte at this venue with a goalless stalemate at New England and a thrilling 4-3 victory at Nashville.
Jonathan Osorio hit a first-half double to help put the Reds on level terms at the interval at GEODIS Park, striking from the edge of the area and then close range.
Italy internationals Federico Bernardeschi and Lorenzo Insigne then combined to put Toronto in control and they held on despite conceding late on.
Bernardeschi successfully converted a powerful spot-kick and Insigne showed why he is the highest-paid player in the league with a superb shot from 20 yards out for his maiden MLS score.
“Amazing goal,” declared team-mate Osorio. “I think he’s been looking for it and his goal shows the quality that he has.”
Head coach Bob Bradley added: “Obviously, we see him getting fitter every week, doing more and more – and to be able to get his first goal, it came at a good time.”
Confidence is clearly growing throughout this team and there is still time for them to make a late surge into the play-offs.

Portland are seventh over in the Western Conference and clearly can’t be underestimated after such a solid series of results.

However, against Dallas on home turf, the Timbers had to ride their luck as Paul Arriola hit the post and Aljaz Ivacic was tested by Jesus Ferreira.
Arriola then wasted a golden opportunity when left one-on-one with the keeper, failing to find the net after trying to round Ivacic.
Ferreira finished neatly but was flagged for offside and Alan Velasco chipped another chance just over the bar as the Portland goal continued to lead a charmed life.
The Timbers looked to have snatched an unlikely victory when Marvin Loria followed up his saved penalty to score on the rebound in the 96th minute.
However, unfortunately there was still time for Diego Chara to head a 100th-minute corner into his own net.
Defeat would have been very cruel on Dallas, though, and that performance suggested Portland are ripe for the taking.
