Houston Dynamo vs CF Montreal prediction & odds

Kick-off: 2130 EDT, 13/08/2022

Stadium: PNC Stadium

TV: TVA Sports/ESPN+

Montreal travel to Houston on a five-match unbeaten run and can take heart from having won on three of their last four MLS road trips.

The Dynamo are reeling from a hat-trick of defeats and have only picked up one point from their last three fixtures at PNC Stadium.

On that evidence, 2.75 for an away victory is good enough to get the nod with our first Houston Dynamo vs CF Montreal prediction.

Houston Dynamo Odds

Houston were edged out by Minnesota when last playing in front of their own fans and have since been thrashed 6-0 at Philadelphia before going down 2-1 in Vancouver.

That result at BC Place earned us a clean sweep of three successful selections in our match preview, including 4.1 for a home win with both teams scoring.

The Dynamo got off to a great start when Samuel Junqua’s shot from the edge of the area was helped into the back of the net by a faint touch from Fabrice-Jean Picault.

As the Whitecaps went in search of an equaliser, Houston looked dangerous on the break, with Thorleifur Ulfarsson unfortunate to be denied by a superb save from Cody Cropper.

However, they were pegged back when a deflected shot fell to Simon Becher and he prodded home in the 88th minute.

Lucas Cavallini then sent the Canadian fans wild when latching onto an only partially cleared corner and thumping his shot through Steve Clark.

The Dynamo have scored in nine of their last 11 home matches but continue to be guilty of rash defending at crucial times.

Examining the 4.8 for an away success and both teams to score.

CF Montreal Odds

Montreal will feel like they dropped two points rather than gained one following last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Inter Miami at Stade Saputo.

The Impact got off to a flyer when Samuel Piette’s excellent cross was neatly turned in by Romell Quioto inside five minutes.

However, Gonzalo Higuain was given far too much space just over 60 seconds later and took full advantage with a deft finish.

Quioto put Le CFMTL back in front from the penalty spot in the 21st minute following a soft handball decision via VAR.

Both teams created more chances before Emerson Rodriguez levelled things up again late on, with James Pantemis saving an initial shot but then being tamely beaten from the rebound.

Piette commented: “Firstly, the result is disappointing when you look at the pace of the game. It’s a draw that feels like a loss.

“But at the same time, we remain 10 points above the play-off line and we remain undefeated in five games.”

Montreal have identical 6-4-2 records at home and away this term, so clearly don’t suffer from travel sickness.

Quioto now has 11 goals to his credit and recently hit another double at DC United, so 6.0 for him to break the deadlock completes our Houston Dynamo vs CF Montreal betting tips.
