Sheff Utd vs Ipswich

Sheffield United should briefly go top of the Championship table by easing past already-relegated Ipswich at Bramall Lane on Saturday evening.

The red-hot Blades go into this game just three points behind Norwich and have a better goal difference, while City do not play until later the same night.

Everything is set up for the hosts to hit the summit and 19/4 for a 2-0 triumph is our initial Sheff Utd vs Ipswich prediction.

A Look At Sheffield United’s Betting Odds

United enjoyed a fruitful Easter period, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 before winning 3-0 at Hull, while leaders Norwich and automatic promotion rivals Leeds faltered.

David McGoldrick bagged an early brace against the Tigers at KCOM Stadium and Enda Stevens completed the scoring prior to the interval.

Chris Wilder commented: “We’ve not taken any short-cuts and we needed a big weekend. Our preparation was good.

“To win games at the top end of the Championship, you’ve got to tick a lot of boxes, and we ticked a lot of boxes.

“We’ve just got to get our heads down and recover well. We are playing at a decent standard. We are in good nick.”

Past meetings with Ipswich have been tight, though, with 1-1 and 0-0 draws coming after a couple of 1-0 wins for the Blades.

Looking at the Sheff Utd vs Ipswich odds, we feel 11/5 for the hosts to shade the first half 1-0 is fair value.

A Look At Ipswich Town’s Betting Odds

Ipswich have been resigned to relegation for some time now and, after initially showing some fighting spirit, are coming off a 4-0 thrashing at Preston and a 1-0 loss to Swansea on home turf.

Town never really looked like securing just a fifth win of the season at Portman Road last weekend, although Collin Quaner brought a good save from Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the 77th minute.

But Paul Lambert insisted he was pleased with the reaction following his side’s previous drubbing at Deepdale.

The manager said: “It was a lot better, there wasn’t too much in the game and we had one or two chances to maybe score.

“It’s been the same all season really, we had some good moments and have just been punished at the wrong end of the pitch.”

The Tractor Boys won’t want to be embarrassed in front of the TV cameras here, so we feel they may hold firm for a while.

However, 31/20 for the Blades to score between 30:01 mins and half-time is added to our Sheff Utd vs Ipswich betting tips.
