England look to be holding all the aces when entertaining Scotland in the second round of Euro 2020 Group D fixtures at Wembley.
The Three Lions kicked off with a win over Croatia, whereas their arch-rivals have a mountain to climb after losing to Czech Republic.
However, the Scots will not give up without a fight and we like 13/10 for both teams to score as our first England vs Scotland prediction.
That bet would have paid out in three of the last four meetings between these sides.
A Look At England’s Betting Odds
There were plenty of positives to take from England’s 1-0 victory over Croatia, with Raheem Sterling grabbing the crucial goal on 57 minutes.
Manchester City team-mate Phil Foden had earlier hit the post while Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips was influential all over the pitch in a man-of-the-match display.
At the back, Jordan Pickford was hardly tested by the World Cup runners-up, with the Three Lions comfortably coping with the absence of Harry Maguire.
However, Gareth Southgate was quick to guard against complacency, especially with such a high-profile contest coming next.
He said: “We had a good day and a good performance but we know what football is and we know how sport works. We haven’t achieved our first objective yet.
“It’s nice to have confidence from the performance but we’ve got to have the same hunger, the same desire, find that same state going into that game on Friday.”
Harry Kane was relatively quiet against Croatia but this is the kind of fixture which should play to his strengths.
The Tottenham striker was on target when these teams last clashed four years ago and gets the nod to break the deadlock here at 23/10 in our England vs Scotland betting tips.
A Look At Scotland’s Betting Odds
Scotland’s first appearance at a major finals for 23 years prompted great excitement north of the border but Czech Republic proved party-poopers in a 2-0 Hampden Park triumph.
Patrik Schick followed up a neat first-half header by catching David Marshall out of position with a superb strike from near the halfway line.
Marshall also had to make a couple of solid saves but Steve Clarke’s side did create chances of their own going forward.
Lyndon Dykes, Andy Robertson, Stuart Armstrong and James Forrest went close while Jack Hendry hit the bar.
Defender Grant Hanley said: “Obviously it’s a disappointing result but it’s tournament football, there’s three games in the group stage so we know what we have got to do to react. The goal remains the same.
“We have got to take the positives and we will keep looking to improve. We approached the game on the front foot and brought our personality on the pitch.
“Now we are playing England at Wembley in the Euros, so how much more motivation do you need? It is definitely a game we are looking forward to.
“We will play the game and not the occasion and we will be prepared and we will be positive.”
Southampton forward Che Adams made a difference when coming on for the second half and will hopefully start at Wembley.
Having netted nine Premier League goals last term, 4/1 for him to score at any time here appeals from the England vs Scotland odds.
However, the Three Lions look just a little bit stronger in all departments, so 8/1 for a 2-1 home win takes the eye.
