Manchester City have lost their last two encounters with Chelsea but can have the last laugh by prevailing in the Champions League final.
Pep Guardiola fielded several fringe players in both of those contests and we feel his strongest team can take care of Thomas Tuchel’s first-choice line-up.
We’re going with the Citizens to oblige in normal time at 21/20 for our first Man City vs Chelsea prediction.
A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds
After suffering some frustrating exits in recent years, Manchester City have been on point from the outset in Europe’s elite club competition this season.
They conceded just one goal in cruising through the group stage and have continued to be defensively solid during the knockout rounds.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund were brushed aside with four straight wins before PSG admittedly provided a sterner test in the semis.
The French outfit showed attacking intent in the first half of both legs and even led 1-0 at the break in the opening encounter in Paris.
However, City held firm under pressure and went on to dominate each contest after the interval, ultimately winning 2-1 away and 2-0 at home.
With the Premier League and EFL Cup trophies already picked up, Guardiola is now chasing a first Champions League crown at the club, having previously prevailed twice with Barcelona.
“I am so proud to be the manager here and of this group of players,” said the Spaniard. “They are so special.
“To come through this season – with all the restrictions and difficulties we’ve faced – and show the consistency we have is remarkable.
“It is relentless. Every single day, they are there, fighting for success, trying always to be better. They have been so, so resilient.”
Last City UCL line-up: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Silva, Fernandinho, Foden, Mahrez.
A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds
Chelsea began their Champions League campaign with Frank Lampard in charge and went unbeaten throughout the pool stage, with a 4-0 thrashing of Sevilla in Spain the pick of their performances.
Tuchel had taken over before the knockout rounds began and immediately showed his European pedigree, having guided PSG to the final last term.
Atletico Madrid were beaten 1-0 away and 2-0 at home before Porto were accounted for far more comfortably than a 2-1 aggregate scoreline suggests.
After drawing 1-1 at Real Madrid in the first leg of their semi-final, Chelsea were outstanding in the return fixture, when the 2-0 margin of victory could easily have been doubled.
Young midfielder Mason Mount netted in a superb display and told UEFA: “We should have probably had about five.
“There’s still one game left and we go into every game to win. I haven’t won anything yet and hopefully we can win. It’s going to be a stunning game.”
The London outfit can be lethal on the break and City have faltered against teams set up to counter-attack in the past.
However, Guardiola has an incredible record in cup finals and has the talent at his disposal to get the better of Tuchel this time.
If the favourites can hit the front, they may be able to kick on and 29/10 for the Citizens to win by more than one goal completes our Man City vs Chelsea betting tips.
