Two struggling teams go head to head when Toronto host San Jose this weekend.
Bob Bradley’s side have lost eight of their last 11 MLS games, while the Earthquakes have emerged victorious from only one of their past five matches.
Home advantage could prove vital, though, and Bradley’s outfit to win at 2.15 is our first Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes prediction.
Toronto FC Odds
After three wins in a four-match unbeaten run in March and April, Toronto’s form has declined rapidly.
The Canadian outfit have claimed just seven points from a possible 33 since and are on the way to emulating their poor season in 2021.
Having not won away, Toronto had relied on their home form, with five wins in eight matches.
But back-to-back defeats, to Columbus Crew and Seattle, have even halted their progress at BMO Field.
Goals in each half from Dylan Teves and Fredy Montero gave Seattle a 2-0 win there on Sunday.
Captain Michael Bradley told Toronto’s official website: “We have no choice now but to regroup and get ourselves ready for a huge home game on Saturday.
“We know that at some point with Lorenzo (Insigne) and ‘Mimmo’ (Domenico Criscito), we’ll start to have a few new faces.
“We will try to integrate them as quickly as possible and continue to make real strides.”
This could be a tight affair and the match to be won by one goal exactly is 2.35 in the Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes odds.
San Jose Earthquakes Odds
San Jose ended a four-match winless streak with victory on Monday night.
Benjamin Kikanovic struck twice to secure the Earthquakes a 2-1 win over Chicago Fire.
Kikanovic told San Jose’s official website: “I just took more shots on goal, and they just went in.
“Usually, I feel like I don’t shoot too much, and I feel like that’s something that I need to improve on in my game. I just took my chances, and they went in.
“There’s not too much to it, but I think as a whole, everyone played together, especially them finding me.”
That success will give San Jose some confidence, but their record on the road is abysmal this season.
They have yet to win in eight attempts, losing six and drawing two, while conceding 18 goals.
San Jose have only scored in three of those eight, but netted three times at Houston and Vancouver, as well as striking twice against Los Angeles.
A home win by a 2-1 scoreline is fancied at 8.75 in our Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes betting tips.
