Montreal have lost their last six head-to-head meetings with New England but look a different team this season and are tipped to buck that trend.
Wilfried Nancy’s side are flying high in second place in the Eastern Conference, nine points ahead of the Revolution, who are sixth.
We reckon 1.85 for a home win is a fair price for our first CF Montreal vs New England Revolution prediction.
CF Montreal Odds
Montreal did us a favour when prevailing 3-2 at Houston last weekend, giving us a couple of nice pay-outs in our match preview.
Our third selection was for the red-hot Romell Quioto to score first but his successful penalty strike came just after Carlos Ferreira had put the Dynamo ahead on 12 minutes.
Alistair Johnston and Daniel Steres then swapped goals as an entertaining first half ended 2-2 before Lassi Lappalainen grabbed the decider in the 69th minute.
That made it three straight road wins for the first time in franchise history and gave Montreal a maiden victory away to Houston.
“I’m proud of this team’s mental strength,” declared head coach Nancy. “The guys like to battle and they’re courageous offensively and defensively.”
The current Impact squad is clearly not haunted by results from past campaigns but it is worth noting that both teams have scored in the last five renewals of this fixture.
Looking at the CF Montreal vs New England Revolution odds, that points us towards 3.4 for a home win and each team to hit the target again.
New England Revolution Odds
New England will travel to Stade Saputo in a determined mood after following up back-to-back wins over Orlando and DC United with a 2-2 draw at Toronto.
Tommy McNamara and Justin Rennicks struck for the Revs, who were resilient at the other end when fielding five defenders and two holding midfielders.
“We had a plan to defend as a team and we did that,” commented Bruce Arena.
“We had a chance maybe to get three points but getting one is a real good achievement for the team. I thought the guys played well.”
However, New England have been hit by injuries and illness of late and were missing six potential starters in midweek.
Such issues usually take a toll in the end and facing two tough road trips in a few days may prove to be the breaking point.
It’s also worth remembering the Revs lost away to New York City and Philadelphia last month and Montreal split those teams in the table.
Arena will try to sit back and soak up pressure again but 8.25 for a 2-1 home win is added to our CF Montreal vs New England Revolution betting tips.
