Kick-off: 2005, 24/05/2019

Stadium: Allianz Riviera

Monaco are almost safe from the threat of relegation and only need a draw to make sure of staying up when visiting neighbours Nice on Friday night.

Last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up have had a campaign to forget but are now three points clear of Caen and have a better goal difference.

Leonardo Jardim will still be determined to make sure by picking up a point at Allianz Riviera, though, and 12/5 for a stalemate is our opening Nice vs Monaco prediction.

A Look At Nice’s Betting Odds

Nice can no longer qualify for Europe next season after a 3-0 defeat at St Etienne left them in eighth place in the table.

Patrick Vieira commented: “In the first half, we had chances but their goalkeeper made some great saves.

“We are really frustrated and this sort of sums up our season. We play lovely football but can’t take our chances.

“We were a little naive at times, but I can’t reproach my players for their spirit.”

Vieira will be keen to finish the season off on a better note, though, and his side have only lost one of their last 13 home games in France’s top flight.

Looking at the Nice vs Monaco odds, we reckon 17/4 for the scores to be level at half-time and full-time is fair value.

A Look At Monaco’s Betting Odds

Monaco finally eased their relegation fears when beating Amiens 2-0 on home turf, with talismanic striker Radamel Falcao and Russia midfielder Aleksandr Golovin on target.

That ended a seven-match winless run and helpful results elsewhere put them in great shape to survive this testing campaign.

However, Jardim was keen to stay focused, stating: “It was a very good response on the pitch from the team, but we need to prepare for the derby and get a result.

“There are always surprises in football. The players know that it has been a difficult season, so now is not the time to celebrate anything.”

Despite selling off a number of prized assets in recent years, there is still lots of talent in this team, with winger Rony Lopes possessing plenty of potential.

Adrien Silva and Cesc Fabregas provide experience in midfield and 6/1 for a repeat of January’s 1-1 draw between these sides at Stade Louis II is added to our Nice vs Monaco betting tips.
