Manchester City rediscovered their scoring touch in Tuesday’s EFL Cup win at Arsenal and that is bad news for Boxing Day’s Premier League opponents Newcastle.

The Blues thrashed the Magpies 5-0 in this competition in July and another drubbing now looks to be on the cards at Etihad Stadium.

We’re taking 10/11 for a home victory by more than two clear goals for our first Man City vs Newcastle prediction.

A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds

City have scored just two goals in their past three top-flight fixtures, drawing with neighbours United and West Brom before a 1-0 win at Southampton.

However, the free-flowing football associated with Pep Guardiola was back on show in a 4-1 triumph over the Gunners.

Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte were all on target in a lively display at Emirates Stadium.

“We’ve been struggling but it’s football,” Mahrez told the club website. “It’s not easy to score four or five goals, even if that’s always been our standard.

“But I think we’re going to come back. We scored four goals here and I think it was a solid performance.”

Sergio Aguero should benefit for a late run-out in that contest and Guardiola can recall the rested Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling this weekend.

Sterling has scored in five of the last seven meetings between these teams, so 16/1 for him to break the deadlock in a 3-0 triumph takes the eye from the Man City vs Newcastle odds.

Last Man City EPL line-up: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Torres.

A Look At Newcastle United’s Betting Odds

Newcastle blew a golden chance to reach a first major cup semi-final in 15 years when going down 1-0 at Brentford in midweek.

Steve Bruce named arguably his strongest line-up but the Magpies were deservedly beaten by the Championship Bees, who actually left some of their key players on the bench.

“We simply haven’t played well enough to win the tie,” admitted Bruce. “We should have had enough, that’s why I went as strong as we did. Unfortunately, we haven’t played well enough.

“We were too slow in possession, we didn’t do enough, we didn’t cause them enough problems, especially with the attacking players we had on the pitch.

“There’s no one more disappointed than me at the way we performed. I’m as frustrated, disappointed and bitterly upset as the huge following we have.

“I have to accept the criticism, which is fully justified, get ready for the challenge of a difficult Christmas period, dust ourselves down and get on with it.

“Are the players playing for me? I think they are. Maybe they’re not playing well enough, but it’s not without effort and determination.”

United are relatively comfortable in mid-table thanks to five wins this term, but their current form is a cause for concern.

The Magpies were hammered 5-2 at Leeds and only drew 1-1 with 10-man Fulham on home turf thanks to a penalty.

Conceding late goals has been an issue, with Newcastle letting in a division-high 10 in the final quarter of an hour of matches.

Let’s add 19/20 for the Blues to outscore them between 75:01 minutes and full-time to our Man City vs Newcastle betting tips.

Last Newcastle EPL line-up: Darlow, Clark, Dummett, Fernandez, Yedlin, Shelvey, Ritchie, Almiron, Longstaff, Joelinton, Wilson.
