Montreal have been involved in a number of entertaining encounters of late and another open contest looks on the cards when they visit LA Galaxy.
The hosts finish off a five-match homestand which has brought mixed fortunes but plenty of goals, with 15 scored in the previous four games here.
We reckon 1.9 for both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is a good place to start with our first Los Angeles Galaxy vs CF Montreal prediction.
Los Angeles Galaxy Odds
The Galaxy have been inconsistent at Dignity Health Sports Park this term and a 3-2 loss to Minnesota last time out made it four wins, four defeats and one draw here.
LA were already 1-0 down when reduced to 10 men by the dismissal of Kevin Cabral in the 25th minute, after a stray boot caught keeper Dayne St Clair on the head.
After conceding twice more before the interval, Mark Delgado and Dejan Joveljic reduced the deficit in the second half but the Union held on.
A feisty affair finished on a low note when LA winger Douglas Costa and Minnesota midfielder Joseph Rosales were sent off for a stoppage-time tussle.
Greg Vanney described the Cabral red card as “diabolical”, declaring: “I saw the video from all angles. He’s certainly trying to get out of the way.”
Reflecting on the overall performance, the head coach added: “Not always will we perform perfectly. Some guys will make mistakes.
“But the level of intensity and the work and concentration on the details that we talk about during the week have to be present.
“Because we can be a very, very good team when we do that and we can be a very vulnerable team when we don’t – and that’s been too often.”
Vanney’s men will be going for a win here to improve their position in the Western Conference but adopting a positive approach can leave them open.
Looking at the Los Angeles Galaxy vs CF Montreal odds, we like 2.25 for both teams to score and either side to win.
CF Montreal Odds
Montreal made it three wins out of four when upsetting the odds with a 2-1 triumph at Seattle, thanks to a double from Mason Toye.
The Impact fell behind early on but Toye levelled in the 18th minute, finding the corner of the net after being set up by Kei Kamara.
It was Kamara who again provided the assist on 62 minutes when his low cross was turned in from close range by Toye.
That was just the second match back following 10 months out with a shoulder injury for Toye, who scored seven goals in 14 games last term.
“I’m really, really happy to be a part of this club,” said the 23-year-old. “Everybody was so supportive while I was in my rehab process.
“My main focus is to improve as a soccer player, in all aspects of my game, and as a person.
“As long as I continue to focus on that process, I have no doubt that I’ll continue to score plenty of goals.”
Montreal had previously beaten Charlotte by the same scoreline on home turf and are playing good football wherever they are in action, with four of nine wins coming on the road.
Both teams have scored in the first half in three of the Impact’s last four games, so 3.75 for that trend to continue is added to our Los Angeles Galaxy vs CF Montreal betting tips.
