Denmark have lost all five previous Women’s European Championship semis but have a great chance to end that hoodoo when facing Austria in Breda on Thursday.

Both of these teams upset the odds by reaching the last four but the Danes deserve to be favourites to make the final after ending Germany’s 22-year reign in brave fashion.

Looking at the Denmark Women vs Austria Women odds, we’re on the Danes at 13/10 to do the business in normal time.

A Look At Denmark Women’s Betting Odds

Denmark looked solid during the group stage, beating Belgium and Norway 1-0 either side of losing to hosts Holland by the same scoreline.

Their quarter-final clash with Germany was delayed by a day due to heavy rain and the Danes seemed in too deep when Isabel Kerschowski put the holders ahead after just three minutes.

However, Denmark showed great spirit to rally in Rotterdam, with second-half headers from Nadia Nadim and Theresa Nielsen securing a 2-1 success.

Head coach Nils Nielsen insisted there was nothing lucky about the surprise victory and his team will be keen to finally make a decider after losing on penalties to Norway at this stage four years ago.

The Danes gave away few chances after that early slip versus Germany and appeal at 11/5 to win to nil in our Denmark Women vs Austria Women betting tips.

A Look At Austria Women’s Betting Odds

Austria went through the group stage unbeaten, drawing 1-1 with highly-rated France in between a 1-0 win over Switzerland and 3-0 defeat of Iceland.

Dominik Thalhammer’s underdogs then earned a semi-final berth in their first major tournament by stifling Spain for 120 minutes and prevailing in a shoot-out.

Hailing the “spirit and dedication” of his players, the manager said: “Maybe the theory about the favourites only being able to win in women’s football is a myth after all.”

Austria will take heart from a 4-2 friendly win over Denmark in the build-up to this event, but this promises to be much tighter and losing key player Lisa Makas to injury is a blow.

Denmark boss Nielsen is fired up to prove a point, commenting on that earlier clash: “We had a complete off-day and Austria killed us. They could have scored 10 goals.

“Now we’re going to show them how we really play – we will look to get them back to win.”

Such fighting talk is always good to see and we’re completing our Denmark Women vs Austria Women predictions by taking 19/4 for the Danes to oblige 1-0.
