Czech Republic vs Denmark: Jump on Danish bandwagon

Kick-off: 1700, 03/07/2021

Stadium: Olympic Stadium

Denmark have played like a team possessed at Euro 2020 since losing Christian Eriksen and are fancied to overwhelm Czech Republic in Baku.

The Czechs have also exceeded expectations and shouldn’t be underestimated but all the vibes are the Danes will take some stopping here.

We’re taking 11/10 for Kasper Hjulmand’s side to get the job done in normal time for our first Czech Republic vs Denmark prediction.

A Look At Czech Republic’s Betting Odds

Czech Republic were a distant second behind England in qualifying and progressed from their Euro 2020 pool as one of the best third-placed teams.

Not much was expected of them when facing a red-hot Netherlands outfit but Tomas Holes and Patrik Schick struck in the second half of an upset success.

Head coach Jaroslav Silhavy said: “We knew they were the favourites, so we needed to play our best – and we did.

“We played as a team and had some great individual performances. You could see they were all ready.

“Tomas Vaclik averted a certain goal and Tomas Holes is a defensive player but scored a goal and assisted another. That is incredible.

“It shows the team spirit we have and it was really awesome. Working as a team, we can still surprise Denmark and maybe go further.”

The disappointing Dutch were badly affected by the 55th-minute dismissal of defender Matthijs de Ligt when it was 0-0.

Even so, it is hard to ignore Schick’s four goals at this tournament following another neat finish.

Looking at the 17/4 for the Danes to win and both teams to score, though.

A Look At Denmark’s Betting Odds

Eriksen’s collapse during an opening 1-0 loss to Finland left Denmark reeling on the ropes but their reaction was to come out fighting.

The Danes played some great football in a 2-1 defeat by Belgium before snatching second place in that pool when romping to a 4-1 triumph over Russia.

Raucous crowds in Copenhagen helped spur them on and there was again strong support for a 4-0 rout of Wales in Amsterdam, where Eriksen spent four years with Ajax.

Kasper Dolberg struck twice before late goals from Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite capped an excellent display at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Hjulmand commented: “Johan Cruyff is one of my greatest inspirations and we also know this is Christian’s first home after leaving Denmark.

“This is where he played his first game at 15 years old and he is with us. I would love for him to have been here.

“It’s hard to believe this is reality but the guys are true warriors and being in a quarter-final is amazing.”

Momentum is a massive thing in sport and the Danes currently have an abundance of it.

Let’s add 17/2 for them to prevail 2-1 to our Czech Republic vs Denmark betting tips.
