Chelsea transfer news: Four more targets backed to join Blues

With the summer window now open, we’re tracking the latest Chelsea transfer news to see which new signings are expected at Stamford Bridge.

Roman Abramovich has already bankrolled moves for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, while Kai Havertz is another player wanted by Frank Lampard.

Bwin is offering odds on a number of transfer specials and these are the other players rated most likely to join the Blues:

DECLAN RICE @ 3/5

Rice is no stranger to Stamford Bridge, having joined Chelsea’s academy as a seven-year-old, before eventually switching to West Ham in his teens. The midfield enforcer has built up a big reputation with the Hammers, placing fourth in the list of most tackles made in the Premier League last season, and has also represented England on seven occasions. Lampard left West Ham to become a Chelsea legend and would love to see this powerful 21-year-old follow in his footsteps.

BEN CHILWELL @ 4/5

Marcos Alonso has shown some signs of ageing and 23-year-old Leicester left-back Chilwell is seen as the number one target to succeed him. Already an established England international, the Milton Keynes-born defender has impressed with his consistency at the back and when storming forward on the overlap, scoring in City’s 2-2 home draw with Chelsea back in February.

JOHN STONES @ 3/1

The 26-year-old’s stock has fallen since moving from Everton to Manchester City for almost £50million four years ago, averaging just 18 Premier League starts per season. However, Chelsea desperately need to rebuild a defence which conceded a division-high 38 goals on the road last term and Stones may just have the calm, level-headed temperament needed to harness the physical attributes of Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma. A fine passing game is another big plus, as Lampard looks to control possession more in big matches.

MOUSSA DEMBELE @ 4/1

Werner has already come in from RB Leipzig as a proven goalscorer but he is often used out wide and a long-term centre forward could still be on the wish list, especially with Olivier Giroud’s future in doubt. Former PSG trainee Dembele has earned rave reviews for his exploits at Celtic and Lyon and, at 24, looks more than capable of stepping up to an elite club for his peak years.
