Vancouver continued their resurgence with a dramatic win over Dallas in midweek but may find travelling to Charlotte tough on a quick turnaround.
CLTFC have generally been strong at Bank of America Stadium in their inaugural campaign and should benefit from having more time to prepare.
We reckon the hosts are a percentage pick to prevail at 1.8 in our initial Charlotte FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps prediction.
Charlotte FC Odds
Charlotte’s run of four straight home wins was halted by a 2-0 loss to Montreal last Saturday but it could have been a different story.
Andre Shinyashiki smashed a first-half shot against the woodwork and Alan Franco should have done better with the rebound.
Karol Swiderski then had a long-range effort saved before Montreal struck with a counter-attack just prior to the interval.
Alistair Johnson doubled the deficit with a sweet strike and there was no way back, despite decent attempts from Ben Bender and Daniel Rios.
Even so, it has been a solid start from the expansion outfit and their fans look sure to make this a hard place to visit all season.
Polish forward Swiderski had a good scoring record for PAOK in Greece and already has four goals to his credit in the MLS.
Looking at the Charlotte FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps odds, he appeals at 5.0 to break the deadlock.
Vancouver Whitecaps Odds
Vancouver claimed a useful scalp when coming from behind to edge out high-flying Dallas 2-1 at BC Place on Wednesday night.
After conceding against the run of play, Brian White equalised on 71 minutes and then Lucas Cavallini converted a stoppage-time spot-kick.
“We made a terrible mistake on the goal, but I think we’ve been the best team the entire game,” said manager Vanny Sartini.
“I think we could have done much better in the final third. I think we had a lot of crosses where we could have attacked the space much better.
“But it shows the resiliency of the team and how good we are mentally and physically at the moment.”
That made it seven points from a three-match homestand, with Toronto beaten 1-0 before a 3-3 draw with San Jose.
The Whitecaps have lost all five away fixtures, though, with 14 goals conceded in those games and just three scored.
Let’s finish off our Charlotte FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps betting tips by taking 5.25 for a home win by exactly two goals.
