We’re tracking all the latest Man City transfer news, rumours and gossip as the Blues bid to dominate English and European football.
Pep Guardiola already has a star-studded squad, but that is unlikely to stop the mega-rich club from adding yet more strength in depth.
With a seemingly bottomless pit of money to dip into, every transfer window promises to be an exciting one for the Citizens.
FEB 28: According to the Daily Mail, City are monitoring 21-year-old Serbia striker Luka Jovic, who has caught the eye during a loan stint with Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica.
Meanwhile, the Blues have boosted their coffers by signing a new long-term kit deal with German manufacturer Puma.
The agreement is believed to be worth £65m a year for 10 years, making it the second biggest in the Premier League behind neighbours United’s contract with adidas.
It also covers City’s sister clubs in Australia, Spain, Uruguay and China and is worth more than treble the arrangement with current kit supplier Nike.
Chief executive Ferran Soriano said: “It is a historic day for us. What we are doing has not been done before. It is an unprecedented partnership.
“We now have seven clubs in five continents. We needed a partner that can move fast with us.”
FEB 27: The Football Association has confirmed it is investigating allegations that City paid £200,000 to Jadon Sancho’s agent when the player was 14.
Under Premier League rules, clubs are not permitted to offer financial inducements to a player under 16 or any person connected with that player.
City responded to the claims by stating: “The attempt to damage the club’s reputation is organised and clear.
“We will not be providing any comment on out of context materials purported to have been hacked or stolen from City Football Group and Manchester City personnel and associated people.”
FEB 26: City have struggled for continuity in the full-back department this season and are being backed to target younger players in that area this summer.
Leicester star Ben Chilwell fits the profile after impressing for the Foxes and breaking into the England squad.
The 22-year-old is thought to be just ahead of Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Guardiola’s wanted list.
FEB 22: Aymeric Laporte signs a two-year contract extension after becoming a mainstay of a side challenging for success in four competitions.
The 24-year-old, who only joined City in a then club-record £57million deal in January 2018, is now committed to the club until 2025.
He said: “The club offers me everything I need to improve my game. I’ve already made great strides and I want to continue getting better and better.
“Obviously, I want to win silverware and I feel City is the best place to fulfil all of my ambitions.”
Txiki Begiristain added: “Aymeric is a huge talent and the fact he has committed his best years to us is something to celebrate.
“We knew before we brought him here that he had outstanding potential but his improvement over the past 12 months has been exceptional.
“We want to construct a young, vibrant side, and Aymeric fits perfectly into our plans. His style of play suits us and his attitude since the day he arrived has been first class.”
