Liverpool will be all the rage to follow up their incredible victory over Manchester United when visiting Premier League basement dwellers Bournemouth.
The Cherries showed in a heart-breaking loss at Arsenal last weekend that they will not go down without a fight, though.
We reckon 15/8 for an away win and both teams to score is a good place to start with our first Bournemouth vs Liverpool prediction.
Cherries battling through tough schedule
Bournemouth suffered a real body blow when beaten 3-2 by the Gunners at Emirates Stadium after taking a surprise 2-0 lead.
Philip Billing turned in the second-fastest goal in the history of the Premier League as he broke the deadlock with just 9.11 seconds on the clock.
Marcos Senesi doubled the advantage with a header three minutes before the hour mark, but Arsenal fought back and ultimately prevailed via a 97th-minute decider.
“My initial thought and feeling is that I’m obviously devastated at the last goal,” manager Gary O’Neil said.
“It has come so late and one he won’t hit like that too often, it was a big blow.
“But we came up a fraction short from taking a point away from the league leaders, there is definitely something in that.
“From where we have been in the past few years and where we are trying to get to, it is a big effort to push them as close as we did.”
The Cherries were previously outclassed by Manchester City here but did keep battling and grabbed a late consolation goal in that 4-1 defeat.
Before that, Bournemouth had been buoyed by a 1-1 draw with Newcastle and a 1-0 win at Wolves.
Unfortunately, this is another tough test and 3/1 for the visitors to oblige 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 appeals from the Bournemouth vs Liverpool odds.
Last Bournemouth line-up: Neto, Stephens, Mepham, Smith, Senesi, Zemura, Ouattara, Rothwell, Semenyo, Billing, Solanke.
Rampant Reds in seven heaven
Liverpool were outsiders to qualify for next season’s Champions League a month ago but picking up 13 points out of a possible 15 has put them back on track for a top-four finish.
The Reds gave their fans a day to remember when romping to a 7-0 triumph over arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield last time out.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all hit doubles and Roberto Firmino also hit the target.
Jurgen Klopp has had to embark on a rebuilding process up front, with Sadio Mane leaving last summer and Firmino on the way out at the end of this season.
There have been some tough times this term, but the future looks bright with Nunez and Gakpo now settled in.
For now, Virgil van Dijk is determined to maintain the momentum built up in recent weeks.
“We won 7-0 in a difficult season that we’ve had – you should be able to stand still and enjoy that a little bit,” said the Dutch defender.
“But the focus will turn and it’s another week towards Bournemouth. I think our focus has always been one game at a time and that doesn’t change.”
Of course, Liverpool did even better in front of goal when thrashing Bournemouth 9-0 back in August to make it seven straight head-to-head wins.
The Cherries will be better prepared this time, but one period of the game is worrying for the hosts, who are 11-0 down between 30:01 minutes and half-time this season.
Let’s add 7/4 for the Reds to score in that section to our Bournemouth vs Liverpool betting tips.
Last Liverpool line-up: Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Henderson, Elliott, Salah, Gakpo, Nunez.
