It is 34 years since Arsenal clinched the league at Liverpool and while they cannot lift the trophy if they win at Anfield this weekend, they can tighten their grip on it.
The table-topping Gunners head for Merseyside on the back of a seven-game winning run in the league, while the hosts have stumbled since hammering Manchester United 7-0 – losing to Bournemouth and Manchester City and drawing at Chelsea.

Bad timing from the Reds
If we take the Champions League defeat by Real Madrid in between the Bournemouth and Manchester City games, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool lost three in a row for the first time this season before stopping the slump at Stamford Bridge.
“The recovery, the desire to sort the situation, I liked,” said Klopp in London. “Nil-nil. Not the most spectacular one, but a step for us.
“A little step, but a step in the right direction. I saw a really good attitude from my team and that’s what I wanted to see. This is the basis for the rest of the season.”
Klopp will be glad to be back on Merseyside after four away games having lost just once at home in the league and conceded just nine goals.
Only Manchester United have a tighter defence at home but of the 10 games Liverpool have left, this will be their biggest test and they lost the reverse fixture 3-2.

Jesus times it right for top Gunners
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta received a timely boost for the final push last month when he welcomed back Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus had been out since the World Cup and needed knee surgery but he got back among the goals in last week’s 4-1 win over Leeds, scoring a deadly double to have his manager purring.
Arteta said: “I’m delighted for him. They all were. We were all clapping for him. He’s been working so hard for the last four or five months with a lot of support from the team and the staff.
“He deserved the chance to start. He grabbed the opportunity with a lot of conviction and with two goals.”
