Harry Kane transfer news: Manchester clubs favourites to swoop

With Euro 2020 now over, attention will switch to the new domestic season and we’re tracking the latest Harry Kane transfer news to see which teams could make a move.

The England captain enjoyed another impressive tournament as his four goals helped the team go agonisingly close to winning the Euros, with Kane threatening to repeat his Golden Boot success at the 2018 World Cup.

Kane ended last season as the top scorer in the Premier League once again with 23 goals but is reported to have told Tottenham he wants a move this summer in a bid to challenge for top honours.

Here are the clubs being tipped to court the prolific marksman and the latest Harry Kane transfer odds on him switching camps before September 3:

MAN CITY @ 3/4

The Blues lost record goalscorer Sergio Aguero at the end of the season and look sure to be in the market for a replacement, especially as Gabriel Jesus hasn’t quite shown the same consistency in terms of hitting the target. Young sensation Erling Haaland has also been linked with a move to Etihad Stadium but Kane may represent a more ready-made option and City were reported to have made an opening offer of around £100million in June.

MAN UTD @ 3/1

United have enjoyed success with bringing in evergreen veterans, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani, but a proven goalscorer at the peak of his powers may be needed to take them to the next level and challenge for title glory again. Kane would also be seen as an ideal role model to aid in the continued development of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood but United have already splashed the cash this summer to sign Kane’s England team-mate Jadon Sancho.

PSG @ 9/1

Linking up with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino again would almost certainly appeal to Kane and money is never an issue for this mega-rich club. Much will depend on whether Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi remain in Paris for another season.

REAL MADRID @ 13/1

Karim Benzema has flourished since stepping out from the shadows of Cristiano Ronaldo and enjoyed an excellent campaign last season. However, at 33, the French forward is in the twilight stages of his stellar career and now could be the time to bring fresher legs to the Bernabeu.

JUVENTUS @ 25/1

The Bianconeri’s dominance of Serie A has come to an end and there was another disappointing early exit from the Champions League, so it would be no surprise to see Juve making a splash in the transfer market.

BARCELONA @ 25/1

Barca are another fallen giant expected to embark on a rebuilding process. Some of their speculative signings have failed to work out in recent years and landing a tried and tested goalscorer may now seem like a tempting option but their financial problems almost certainly rule them out making a move for Kane.
