Bundesliga odds: Bayern Munich now 150/1 to retain title

Bayer Leverkusen are the clear favourites to win the Bundesliga come the end of the season after a slew of losses for Bayern Munich in Germany’s top flight.

Bayern Munich lost 2-0 to Dortmund last week and 3-2 to Heidenheim a week later. These losses followed a 3-0 loss to Leverkusen and 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bochum in February. As a result, Thomas Tuchel’s side find themselves 16 points behind the league leaders, with both teams having played 28 games

With just six games between now and the end of the season, the bookies clearly think that Bayern don’t have enough to catch Leverkusen, who haven’t lost a game in the Bundesliga this year, so are tipping Xabi Alonso’s team to win the title come the end of the season. The Spainard’s side only need to win one game between now and the end of the season to win the title, which is seen as incredibly likely.

Bundesliga odds

At the time of writing, Bayer Leverkusen have played 28 games in the Bundesliga, winning 24 of them. Alonso’s side have drawn their four remaining fixtures, meaning they’re currently unbeaten in domestic club football.

That’s not all though, as Leverkusen haven’t actually lost a game in any competition this season. They’ve reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League, as well as progressing to the DFB-Pokal semi-final after beating Stuttgart on February 6.

The same cannot be said for Bayern Munich though, who have been incredibly disappointing in the DFB-Pokal, where they were knocked out by third-round side Saarbrucken, as well as the Champions League and the Bundesliga.

Bayern have only won two of their last four Bundesliga games, including a 2-0 loss to Dortmund last month and a 2-2 draw with Freiburg a few weeks prior.

As a result of their poor league form, as well as a pivotal loss to Alonso’s side, Bayern find themselves 16 points behind Leverkusen, with the majority of the season now in the books.

Tuchel’s side have drawn one fewer game than Leverkusen, but the gap between the two sides comes from the fact that Die Werkself have won five more games, and lost six fewer.

So, where does that leave us in terms of the Bundesliga odds? Well, Bayern are seen as the undisputed favourites with the bookies, so much so that you can’t actually put a bet on them winning the title this season. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are at 150/1

  • Bayern Munich – 150/1

For what it’s worth, Bayern also saw themselves drop from second to joint-third favourites in the Champions League betting after their 1-0 loss in the first-leg of their first knockout round to Lazio. They managed to turn the tie around, and are now at 7/1 to win the tournament, after a draw against Arsenal in the first leg of their last eight tie.
