Kick-off: 1930, 31/03/2019
Stadium: San Siro
Inter have had a fortnight to enjoy their thrilling Milan derby triumph and can hopefully pick up where they left off by beating Lazio at the San Siro.
The visitors are still an attractive team to watch but appear to have slipped down the pecking order in Italy’s top flight, judged on some moderate results on the road.
We reckon 6/5 for a home win here is a rock-solid Inter Milan vs Lazio prediction.
A Look At Inter Milan’s Betting Odds
Inter leapfrogged their city rivals to climb up to third place in the Serie A table thanks to a 3-2 derby victory, when competing as the designated away team.
Luciano Spalletti’s job was rumoured to be on the line following a Europa League loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, but that result put him back in the good books.
Matias Vecino’s third-minute strike and a Stefan De Vrij header six minutes into the second half put the Nerazzurri in control.
Tiemoue Bakayoko pulled one back for Milan but Lautaro Martinez netted a 67th-minute penalty and Inter held on despite conceding again through Mateo Musacchio.
Vecino told his club’s official website: “The true version of Inter was on show – we did well to forget about Thursday and start again from zero.”
He feels the break for Euro 2020 qualifiers came at a good time, adding: “It is always nice to rest a bit, so after a game like that it helps and will do us good.”
Mauro Icardi is back in training after six weeks out, but Martinez has come to the fore in his absence and will be hard to dislodge.
The 21-year-old followed up his derby goal by netting for Argentina against Venezuela during the international break.
Looking at the Inter Milan vs Lazio odds, there is plenty of appeal in 17/4 for Martinez to score first.
A Look At Lazio’s Betting Odds
Lazio have found a bit of form this month, beating Roma 3-0 and Parma 4-1 in home fixtures, either side of a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina.
However, their overall away record this season leaves a bit to be desired, losing five times on the road and only scoring 14 goals in 13 fixtures when on their travels.
The feeling is that defeats at Juventus, Roma and Napoli have exposed their limitations, while last month’s 2-1 reversal at Genoa was quickly followed by a 2-0 Europa League loss at Sevilla.
Inter have already beaten Lazio 3-0 at Olimpico this season and we’re not too concerned by the Biancocelesti gaining some revenge with a penalty shoot-out success in the Coppa Italia.
We’re going with 17/4 for a 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 home win from the multiple correct score market to finish off our Inter Milan vs Lazio betting tips.
AC Milan 2-3 INTER MILAN – Matias Vecino, Stefan de Vrij, Lautaro Martinez (pen)
LAZIO 4-1 Parma – Adam Marusic, Luis Alberto (2), Senad Lulic
Head-to-head: Inter 1-1 Lazio, Lazio 0-3 Inter, Lazio 2-3 Inter, Inter 0-0 Lazio, Lazio 1-3 Inter, Inter 1-2 Lazio
