Tunisia and Nigeria both suffered heart-breaking semi-final defeats at the Africa Cup of Nations and Wednesday’s third-place play-off will be a test of their resolve.

Nigeria have been entertaining to watch in the latter stages of this competition, beating Cameroon 3-2 and South Africa 2-1 to reach the last four.
In the semis, Algeria went ahead courtesy of a first-half own goal by William Troost-Ekong, with the Udinese central defender turning a Riyad Mahrez cross into his own net.
Odion Ighalo equalised with a penalty for the Super Eagles, with the spot-kick awarded for handball after a VAR review.
An additional 30 minutes seemed likely, but Mahrez settled the tie with what proved to be the last kick of the match, curling in a free-kick from just outside the area.
Head coach Rohr was pragmatic in defeat, stating: “We won the last game against South Africa late and here we lost – that is football.”
However, former Watford striker Ighalo should still be fired up for this consolation prize, as he leads the Golden Boot race on four goals.
