Inter leapfrogged AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table last weekend and can further strengthen their title claims by winning Sunday’s crucial derby clash.

The Rossoneri had led the way for most of the season after getting off to a flying start but their recent efforts have been far less impressive.

Inter have won five of the last six head-to-head meetings following last month’s Coppa Italia triumph and 21/20 they oblige again is our first AC Milan vs Inter Milan prediction.

A Look At AC Milan’s Betting Odds

AC Milan showed signs of faltering when only drawing with Parma and Genoa in the run-up to Christmas.

Last month, Stefano Pioli’s side suffered Serie A losses to Juventus and Atalanta on home turf, conceding three goals on each occasion.

The Rossoneri had just about managed to stay at the summit courtesy of beating lesser opponents.

However, a damaging 2-0 defeat at Spezia allowed Inter to claim pole position and it may be tough for AC to bounce back.

Pioli told the club website: “We must look ahead of us. In football, it is not what you have done but what you will do.”

The manner of their loss at Stadio Alberto Picco was too disturbing to gloss over, though, with a lifeless Milan not having a shot on target.

Milan derbies have at least tended to be more up-tempo affairs of late, with each team getting on the scoresheet in four of the last five encounters.

But that just makes us like 13/5 for the Nerazzurri to prevail and both teams to score from the AC Milan vs Inter Milan odds.

A Look At Inter Milan’s Betting Odds

Inter hit the front in the Serie A title race in fine style when ending Lazio’s run of six consecutive league victories with a 3-1 triumph.

Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring with a 22nd-minute penalty and added his second on the stroke of half-time.

Gonzalo Escalante dragged the visitors back into it only for Lautaro Martinez to dash their hopes with a third in the 64th minute.

Martinez was outstanding and hailed the mass celebration after his goal as a sign of the unity in this squad.

He said on the club website: “We celebrated like that and all hugged together because we really feel this and we’re a team.

“We’re united, we showed great character and played well. This is who we are.

“Everyone gave their best, I’m very happy because we’re now where we want to be. We’ve worked a lot to be here.”

Antonio Conte added: “We’re showing significant mental strength and a certain consistency.

“I’m particularly happy for the guys, but this has to be a starting point for us and we’re not there yet.”

We can’t see their arch-rivals being able to cope with Inter’s pace and power up front, especially now they are playing with such confidence and spirit.

Let’s go with 14/1 for the new leaders to win 3-1 to finish off our AC Milan vs Inter Milan betting tips.
