What Trueform says for Chelsea vs Man City
Chelsea looked set to mount a Premier League title challenge early on this season but have since slipped 10 points behind pacesetters Manchester City.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have faltered badly since the international break, whereas the defending champions continue to set a scorching pace at the top of the table.
City did the double over Chelsea last term and were a different class in August’s Community Shield clash.
That all makes 17/20 for an away win hard to resist as our first Chelsea vs Man City prediction.
A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds
Sarri started his reign at Stamford Bridge with an 18-match unbeaten run, but a 3-1 loss to Tottenham burst that bubble and Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves was even more damaging.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s deflected opener put the Blues in control at Molineux, but Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota struck in four second-half minutes to turn things around.
“I am really very worried, not for the result, but the fact that after the first goal we conceded we did not react very well,” said the manager, who accused his players of being over-confident.
Sarri also conceded City are out of sight, with his side left battling for a Champions League spot.
He added: “Manchester City are in another category. We have to play and fight for the top four.”
The London outfit do have the attacking firepower to cause problems, but we prefer to go with 2/1 for an away win and both teams to score from the Chelsea vs Man City odds.
Last Chelsea line-up: Kepa, Rudiger, Alonso, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Kante, Hazard, Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Morata.
A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds
City have only dropped four points all season after Tuesday’s 2-1 triumph at Watford gave them a 13th win in 15 Premier League matches.
Pep Guardiola’s side were given a fright in the concluding stages when Abdoulaye Doucoure bundled over from close range with just five minutes remaining.
However, they had dominated until that point and goals from Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez either side of half-time proved enough to secure victory.
“You are not going to win every game 4-0 or 5-0 and going through these types of games makes you stronger,” commented Mahrez.
“We created more chances and tried to kill the game, but in football, when you are 2-0 up and the opposition scores, the crowd get behind them and it’s difficult, so we we’re very happy to win and get the three points.”
We reckon 31/4 for a repeat of that 2-1 Vicarage Road scoreline is worth adding to our Chelsea vs Man City betting tips.
Last Man City line-up: Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Stones, Delph, Sane, B Silva, D Silva, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Jesus.
Wolves 2-1 CHELSEA – Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Watford 1-2 MAN CITY – Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez
Head-to-head: Chelsea 0-2 Man City, Man City 1-0 Chelsea, Chelsea 0-1 Man City, Chelsea 2-1 Man City, Man City 1-3 Chelsea, Chelsea 0-3 Man City
