Brentford have been a breath of fresh air since gaining promotion to the Premier League and are taken to give Chelsea a decent test.
The Bees have picked up seven points from their last three matches, winning away to Wolves and West Ham either side of a thrilling draw with Liverpool here.
We’re taking 6/4 for Thomas Frank’s fearless side to avoid defeat again as our first Brentford vs Chelsea prediction.
A Look At Brentford’s Betting Odds
Brentford climbed up to seventh place on 12 points from seven games when following up a 3-3 draw with the Reds by beating the Hammers 2-1.
Bryan Mbeumo’s 20th-minute strike was cancelled out by Jarred Bowen late on at London Stadium but Yoane Wissa snatched victory in stoppage time.
The west London club are back in the top tier for the first time since 1947 and their bold, entertaining approach – backed up by the energy of charismatic manager Frank – has made them a big hit with neutrals.
“Outside of London, maybe no one in the world knows who we are,” said Frank. “So, we need to show them with good performances on the pitch.
“I’m also very aware everything changes very quickly in football and we must keep on working, but I believe in the team and the players massively.
“I believed that we could do something in the Premier League; I knew we would be strong defensively and pressing forward and aggressive.
“And I also knew we’d try to be brave, that’s my biggest message to the players. We are proud, but I think it’s also a truly deserved 12 points.”
Super-sub Wissa, who grabbed the late leveller versus Liverpool, had a good scoring record for Lorient in France last term and is proving a real find.
The DR Congo international has struck five times in all competitions and appeals at 10/1 to score last from the Brentford vs Chelsea odds.
Last Brentford line-up: Raya, Henry, Pinnock, Jansson, Jorgensen, Norgaard, Onyeka, Mbeumo, Baptiste, Canos, Toney.
Brentford are without Shandon Baptiste (dislocated shoulder) for the west London derby. Kristoffer Ajer and Vitaly Janelt should be available after missing the West Ham win through injury, while Ethan Pinnock has recovered from a knock.
A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds
Chelsea bounced back from losses to Manchester City and Juventus by beating Southampton 3-1 to go top of the table.
Trevoh Chalobah broke the deadlock early on in that game but it was feared the Blues would pay for some missed chances when James Ward-Prowse equalised from the penalty spot.
However, the Saints midfielder saw red on 77 minutes and that opened the door for Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell to pounce late on.
Thomas Tuchel has had to tweak things around a bit, though, with Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech struggling for form and N’Golo Kante testing positive for Covid-19.
Kante is back from a spell of self-isolation but Reece James and Christian Pulisic are still battling ankle problems.
We feel the Bees may see this as an opportunity to have a go at the Champions League holders.
Let’s add 17/4 for both teams to score in the first half to our Brentford vs Chelsea betting tips.
Last Chelsea line-up: Mendy, Rudiger, Silva, Chalobah, Chilwell, Azpilicueta, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Lukaku, Werner, Hudson-Odoi.
Defensive duo Thiago Silva (international duty) and Antonio Rudiger (back) will miss out for Chelsea. Ziyech is unlikely to feature after suffering headaches.
