Two more struggling teams contest this year’s second NFL London clash, with the winless Jaguars technically entertaining the 1-4 Dolphins.
Regular visitors Jacksonville have shown some encouraging signs in their last two games but Miami look a much-more settled side overall and will have a big support.
We like Evens for the designated away team to prevail by more than 3.5 points as our first Jaguars vs Dolphins prediction.
A Look At Jacksonville Jaguars’ Betting Odds
Number one draft pick Trevor Lawrence looked like a deer caught in the headlights at the start of his NFL career but glimpses of his superb college form have begun to surface.
The Jaguars were narrowly beaten 24-21 by Cincinnati and were more competitive than the final scoreline suggests in a 37-19 defeat by Tennessee.
However, it is hard to ignore the fact Jacksonville have now lost 20 straight matches, the second-longest winless streak in the Super Bowl era.
Conceding more than 22 points in each of those reversals is another alarming statistic for a once feared defence.
Running back James Robinson told ESPN: “We’re a really good team. Obviously, our record doesn’t show it but we’ve got a lot of great guys in the locker room and we’ve just got to find something that’s going to work for us.”
To be fair, Robinson has been one of the big plus points so far this season, rushing for 149 yards and a touchdown against the Titans to make it four scores in his last three outings.
Looking at the Jaguars vs Dolphins odds, we like Robinson to cross the whitewash first for his team.
A Look At Miami Dolphins’ Betting Odds
Miami kicked off their campaign with a 17-16 victory over New England but have not had much luck since.
A 35-0 drubbing by Buffalo brought them back down to earth before an overtime defeat by Las Vegas.
Indianapolis beat the Dolphins 27-17 and last week’s 45-17 thrashing by Tampa Bay saw them give up 411 passing yards and five touchdowns to Tom Brady.
However, this is a team which claimed 10 victories last season, including a 31-13 demolition of Jacksonville, and the feeling is they will relish this chance to return to winning ways.
Let’s go with 18/5 for Miami to oblige by 7-12 points in our Jaguars vs Dolphins betting tips.
Getting QB Tua Tagovailoa back from a rib injury suffered in Week 2 would be a huge boost and tight-end Mike Gesicki may prove a popular target.
The 26-year-old made 10 catches versus the Raiders, had five receptions and a TD against the Colts and kept plugging away when hauling in four passes in last week’s big loss.
JAGUARS 19-37 Titans
Buccaneers 45-17 DOLPHINS
Head-to-head: Dolphins 31-13 Jaguars, Jaguars 7-22 Dolphins, Jaguars 17-7 Dolphins, Dolphins 20-23 Jaguars
