Brendan Rodgers: What trophies has the Celtic manager won?

Celtic have announced the return of Brendan Rodgers as manager on a three-year contract.

Rodgers replaces Ange Postecoglou four years and four months after his sudden departure to Leicester after winning seven out of seven domestic trophies with the Hoops.

The 46-year-old had only lifted one trophy in his managerial career before heading to Celtic Park but during his first spell in charge he won every available domestic competition.

Here we look at all the Brendan Rodgers trophies won during his management career.

Championship play-offs, 2010-11

Rodgers’ Swansea missed out on automatic promotion to the Premier League by four points but responded by reaching the play-off final at Wembley, where Scott Sinclair scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 victory against Reading.

Betfred Cup, 2016-17

His first trophy with Celtic came in November 2016 as goals from Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Moussa Dembele secured a 3-0 victory against Aberdeen in the final at Hampden.

Ladbrokes Premiership, 2016-17

Celtic won the league at a canter, with Rodgers masterminding an unbeaten campaign. The Hoops finished 30 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and recorded 106 points and the same amount of goals in 38 games.

William Hill Scottish Cup, 2016-17

Rodgers and Celtic completed an unbeaten domestic campaign, with Rogic scoring a stoppage-time winner as a 2-1 victory against Aberdeen at Hampden secured a treble.

Betfred Cup, 2017-18

Rodgers made it four from four in Scotland as Forrest and Dembele scored in a 2-0 final success against Motherwell.

Ladbrokes Premiership, 2017-18

Celtic suffered four defeats during the campaign but secured a seventh straight league title with a 5-0 success against Old Firm rivals Rangers. They finished on 82 points, nine clear of Aberdeen.

William Hill Scottish Cup, 2017-18

After beating Rangers 4-0 in the semi-finals, goals from Callum McGregor and Olivier Ntcham in a 2-0 final win against Motherwell secured a double treble.

Betfred Cup, 2018-19

The first leg of the treble treble aim was ticked off after Ryan Christie’s goal saw off Aberdeen 1-0 at Hampden, but it proved to be the final trophy of Rodgers’ reign.

FA Cup, 2021

Arguably the pick of the Brendan Rodgers trophies was secured two years ago as Leicester won the FA Cup for the first time in their history. The Foxes headed to Wembley as the underdogs but a second-half goal from Youri Tielemans proved enough to beat Chelsea 1-0.
