Major updates on Barcelona, Chelsea, Man United & Bayern Munich manager hunts

Major updates have emerged on the managerial situations at four of Europe’s biggest clubs, Chelsea, Man United Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick will become Barcelona’s manager next season, with the move being officially confirmed this week. Xavi announced earlier on in the year that he’d be leaving the club, but prior to the end of the campaign said that he’d reversed his decision and would now be staying.

However, the Barcelona board have now made the decision to sack Xavi, with the club legend leaving the club following their away game at Sevilla on May 26.

Vincent Kompany will become Bayern Munich’s next manager

The former Bayern Munich manager was also being considered by his former club to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will also leave at the end of the season, but now the German clubs will be hiring a different boss.

Reports from various sources indicated that Burnley manager Vincent Kompany will be managing Bayern Munich next season, a big step up for the former Man City defender, and that’s now been confirmed.

Kompany wasn’t Bayern’s first choice, with the likes of Xabi Alonso and Ralf Ragnick turning down the chance to coach one of Europe’s biggest clubs, but the decision has been made to move for the Burnley manager.

Man United have made the decision to sack Erik ten Hag

Next on the docket is Man United, who The Guardian reported prior to the FA Cup would part ways with Erik ten Hag at the end of the season. As for who might become the Red Devils’ next boss, if the Dutchman is sacked, the likes of Roberto De Zerbi and Gareth Southgate are in the running, but it’s actually the aforementioned Tuchel who is seen as the favourite by the bookies to take over from Ten Hag.

Chelsea are also in the market for a new manager, for what it’s worth, sacking Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season. It’s Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca, a former Man City assistant manager in his own right, who is currently leading the race to become the Blues’ next boss. A deal is believed to have already been agreed.

Before fans can even think about next season, all attention is on Euro 2024, with England the sole favourites to win the tournament for the first-time in history.
