Burnley vs Brentford: Clarets and Bees to share spoils

Kick-off: 1500, 30/10/2021

Stadium: Turf Moor

Brentford are unbeaten in four Premier League road trips and are fancied to extend that sequence when visiting Burnley.

However, even though the Clarets are still seeking their first top-flight win of the season, recent performances have been promising and this could be a close contest.

We’re keen on 11/5 for a draw at Turf Moor as our first Burnley vs Brentford prediction.

A Look At Burnley’s Betting Odds

Burnley are still in the relegation zone with just four points from nine outings but battled to a decent 2-2 draw at Southampton last time out.

Maxwel Cornet bagged both goals for the Clarets at St Mary’s Stadium and the Ivory Coast winger is looking a bargain buy at £12.85million.

Saints had the better chances to grab a decider but Sean Dyche took plenty of encouragement from a spirited display.

He commented: “I’m pleased once again with the performance level but obviously disappointed with the mistakes.

“Our mentality to try to win the game was quite obvious. We’re still searching for the win but we’ve got to maintain these performances and there were certainly good signs.

“We’re aware of the situation and we are working hard with the players and I don’t think we are very far from it.”

There have also been good recent stalemates with Leeds and Leicester, although only sharing the spoils with Norwich here was frustrating.

Looking at the Burnley vs Brentford odds, we like 11/2 for Cornet to score his side’s opening goal again.

Last Burnley EPL line-up: Pope, Lowton, Taylor, Tarkowski, Collins, Cork, Brownhill, McNeil, Westwood, Wood, Cornet.

Ben Mee returned from illness for the EFL Cup defeat to Tottenham and is in contention to feature again.

Reserve goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey missed that match with an ankle problem and could be sidelined again, while Dale Stephens is still not match fit following injury.

A Look At Brentford’s Betting Odds

Brentford will obviously see this as a drop in class after suffering back-to-back defeats versus Chelsea and Leicester in front of their own fans.

Mathias Jorgensen’s header on the hour dragged the Bees level versus City but a James Maddison tap-in gave the Foxes a 2-1 triumph.

Defeat was harsh on Brentford, who were on top for long periods and had an Ivan Toney goal disallowed despite replays showing he may have been onside.

“I’m very proud of my players and team, I think we performed well and we win that game seven times out of 10,” said Thomas Frank.

“We absolutely hammered Leicester in the first half and that’s the team who came fifth last year.

“We dominated in possession, we created chances and they had nothing but the lucky punch.”

Brentford had a good away record in the Championship and have not suffered from travel sickness since earning promotion.

Following draws at Palace and Villa, they picked up maximum points at Wolves and West Ham, so deserve plenty of respect.

Toney broke the deadlock in a couple of those contests and 12/5 for him to be on target for the Bees first here is added to our Burnley vs Brentford betting tips.

Last Brentford EPL line-up: Raya, Henry, Pinnock, Jansson, Jorgensen, Norgaard, Jensen, Onyeka, Mbeumo, Canos, Toney.

Brentford will be without first-choice goalkeeper David Raya, with on-loan Alvaro Fernandez set to deputise. Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo will both be assessed, but Frank is hopeful the pair could be fit.
