Kick-off: 1230, 20/08/2022

Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

TV: BT Sport 1

Tottenham host Wolves on the back of their fiery 2-2 draw at London rivals Chelsea and are fancied to enjoy a welcome smooth success.

Wanderers have just one point and a single goal to show from their opening two matches and are yet to find any real spark up front.

We reckon a 2-0 win for Spurs is good value at 6.5 for our first Tottenham vs Wolves prediction.

Tottenham Hotspur Odds

Antonio Conte’s Spurs have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, with a 4-1 opening-day win over Southampton and Sunday’s battling draw.

The north Londoners twice came from behind at Stamford Bridge, snatching a point with Harry Kane’s injury-time header.

Kane told Sky Sports afterwards: “It was a tough game, we knew it would be a tough battle. We carried on fighting and thankfully got one at the end there.

“I’m happy with how we fought back. I think it was a really important game for us to show where we are as a team.

“Especially after last season, losing four times to them, to come away with a point is a good feeling.”

That was Kane’s 249th goal for the club and it would be churlish to bet against him racking up number 250 here.

Spurs were slow to get out of the traps at Chelsea, though, so a draw at half-time and the hosts to win at full-time is an appealing 3.9 in the Tottenham vs Wolves odds.

Last Tottenham line-up: Lloris, Romero, Dier, Davies, Emerson, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

Cristian Romero will miss out due to an adductor muscle injury in his pelvic area. Barcelona loanee Clement Lenglet is back, but Oliver Skipp (heel) is out as summer signing Richarlison pushes for his full debut.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Odds

Wolves started the season with a 2-1 defeat by Leeds, despite opening the scoring after only six minutes through Daniel Podence.

They were then indebted to Jose Sa for saving Aleksandar Mitrovic’s late penalty as they held on for a goalless draw at home to Fulham.

The home side should have broken the deadlock when Morgan Gibbs-White was presented with a tap-in, but the England Under-21 forward failed to convert. Pedro Neto also could not find the net with the goal gaping.

Boss Bruno Lage sent on new signing Goncalo Guedes for his first appearance in the 57th minute and the Portugal forward’s darting runs helped stretch Fulham’s defence, but the Londoners held firm.

“I think we deserved to win the game, but we need to score goals,” admitted Lage.

“We had plenty of chances to do that. Sometimes our players faced a goalkeeper, twice the goalkeeper was not in the goal, I think with Neto and Morgan.

“These are clear chances to score goals, so in the end we look for the performance. Again, another good performance.”

We can see Wanderers not scoring throughout again here and 3.1 for no goals in either direction during the first half completes our Tottenham vs Wolves betting tips.

Last Wolves line-up: Sa, Collins, Kilman, Jonny, Ait Nouri, Podence, Neto, Dendoncker, Neves, Gibbs-White, Hwang.

Wolves could hand a debut to Portugal midfielder Matheus Nunes, who joined from Sporting Lisbon for a club record fee. Morgan Gibbs-White completed his transfer to Nottingham Forest on Friday and Nunes is expected to go straight into the squad.

Forward Raul Jimenez (knee and groin) and midfielder Joao Moutinho (heel) both continue their recovery.
