Falcons vs Jets: Atlanta fancied for London triumph

Kick-off: 1430, 10/10/2021

Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

TV: Sky Sports

The NFL is back in London on Sunday with the Atlanta Falcons technically hosting the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Both of these teams are struggling at 1-3 this season but are coming off encouraging recent efforts and an entertaining encounter is expected.

With decent weather forecast, we like 7/5 for Atlanta to win and over 40.5 total points in the game for our first Falcons vs Jets prediction.

We’ve analysed past editions of the NFL London International Series to look at what this flagship event has delivered for both the sport of American Football and its UK-based fans to date.

A Look At Atlanta Falcons’ Betting Odds

Atlanta kicked off their campaign with heavy losses to Philadelphia and Tampa Bay before edging out the New York Giants on the road.

The Falcons looked poised to build on that victory when 30-22 ahead against Washington with less than 10 minutes left on the clock.

However, the defensive issues which have plagued them this term resurfaced and conceding two fourth-quarter touchdowns led to a 34-30 defeat.

“We had multiple opportunities to win that game and we didn’t,” said head coach Arthur Smith. “We have to get a lot of things fixed in a hurry.”

On the plus side, Atlanta’s offensive line did a good job of protecting experienced quarterback Matt Ryan against a strong Washington pass rush.

Looking at the Falcons vs Jets odds, we reckon 31/10 for Atlanta to win by 1-6 points is worth support.

Ryan has been linking up well with progressive wide-out Calvin Ridley and 20/23 for him to have more than 78.5 receiving yards also appeals.

A Look At New York Jets’ Betting Odds

The Jets sent quarterback Sam Darnold packing in the off-season and put their faith in rookie signal caller Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in this year’s draft.

Questions were raised over that move when low-scoring losses to Carolina and New England were followed by a 26-0 drubbing in Denver.

However, Wilson gave a glimpse of his playmaking potential in last week’s 27-24 overtime triumph over Tennessee at MetLife Stadium.

It is too early to trust the baby-faced 22-year-old in our opinion, but he has struck up a good partnership with former Titans receiver Corey Davis.

The pick of his 21 successful completions versus Tennessee was a superb 53-yard touchdown throw to his top target.

Punters can get 20/23 that Davis’ longest catch in London goes for more than 23.5 yards and that is added to our Falcons vs Jets betting tips.
