The seventh night of the Premier League takes place in Berlin.
Michael van Gerwen ended Gerwyn Price’s unbeaten streak in Nottingham, winning 7-2 to return to the top of the table, while winless Raymond van Barneveld suffered a fourth defeat in six matches to stay bottom.
Here are our Premier League darts predictions, which will return around £370 from a £10 stake in a five-time accumulator.
Rob Cross to beat Gerwyn Price @ 6/5
Cross is back to his best, an assessment that was evident during his 7-3 win over Barney. Three wins on the spin have taken the former world champion level on points with Van Gerwen. Price’s losing streak continued against the defending champion and it will be interesting to see if he can bounce back. The Welshman has won two of his five matches against Cross.
James Wade to beat Peter Wright @ 31/20
Wade’s recent impressive form suffered a blow with a surprise defeat to Mensur Suljovic. Peter Wright somehow lost the last three legs to draw with Daryl Gurney, the Scot’s third stalemate in six matches. A close game is expected but Wade should just edge it.
Michael van Gerwen to beat Daryl Gurney @ 7/25
Van Gerwen returned to winning ways, but the scoreline flattered him after another below-par display. The Dutchman should have enough to see off Gurney, who showed fight to claw his way back for a draw against Wright after winning just one leg in his two previous games.
Michael Smith to beat Mensur Suljovic @ 23/20
Smith saw off the latest ‘contender’ in Nathan Aspinall and will hope to use that victory as a springboard. Suljovic has held his own this campaign, proving his credentials by beating Wade, but Smith beat him in the Premier League last year.
Raymond van Barneveld to beat Max Hopp @ 7/5
Van Barneveld’s final Premier League before retirement is not going according to plan. The Dutchman was beaten by Cross to leave him three points adrift of safety. It is not often the crowd is against Barney, but this week the Germans will be on home favourite Hopp’s side as he becomes the latest ‘contender’. However, Barney showed glimpses of a return to form at the weekend, reaching the final of the Players Championship 8 in Wigan, and will finally get off the mark in Germany.
