Calgary Flames vs Winnipeg Jets predictions

Face-off: 2000 ET, 27/11/2021

Venue: Scotiabank Saddledome

Calgary and Winnipeg have been going in opposite directions in the Western Conference table over the past fortnight.

The Flames have stormed to the summit on the back of four straight convincing victories, whereas the Jets are down to eighth due to four losses in a row.

Punters can get 1.91 for both sequences to continue here and a home win is hard to oppose in our Calgary Flames vs Winnipeg Jets predictions.

Calgary Flames Odds

Calgary are the team to catch in the Pacific division after finishing off a seven-game road trip with three away wins and then beating Chicago 5-2 on home ice.

Left-winger Milan Lucic looked back on the recent exertions and said: “It was probably the toughest stretch of our schedule.

“It just felt like one big, long road trip but I think we did a good job of managing our energy, managing our rest, being fresh.”

The Flames were flattered by two late empty-net goals against the Blackhawks and head coach Darryl Sutter admitted there were signs of fatigue.

A couple of days off should help them to re-energise, though, and another fast start at Scotiabank Saddledome would be welcome.

The Flames have broken the deadlock an NHL-leading 16 times this term and are 2.05 to open the scoring in the first period of this contest.

Eric Lindholm had two assists against Chicago to make it seven in six games and is NHL odds.

Winnipeg Jets Odds

Winnipeg are down to fourth in the Central division and were worryingly off the pace in yesterday’s 7-1 thrashing in Minnesota.

To be fair, the opening period could have been much different, with the Wild’s two goals both featuring a touch of good fortune and the Jets hitting iron twice.

However, when Minnesota doubled their advantage in the second, Connor Hellebuyck was benched after making just 10 saves from 14 shots.

The Jets were out-shot 21-6 in that stanza and ended up 5-0 down and a consolation effort from Pierre-Luc Dubois in the third provided little comfort.

Centre Paul Stastny, who returned from a three-week lay-off, said: “I think what happened is going to happen sometimes when we’re low on confidence.

“You’re going to go through skids but sometimes it’s better to lose a blow-out game to kind of wake everyone up and knock some sense into everyone.”

Winnipeg are too good to stay down for long but this match may be a damage limitation exercise before getting back on home ice on Monday.

Calgary have won their last four games by at least three goals, so 13.5 for a 4-1 scoreline.
