Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche predictions Game 4

Face-off: 2000 ET, 06/06/2022

Arena: Rogers Place

Edmonton have found Colorado just too strong in the Stanley Cup playoffs but can hopefully stay alive in the series by winning Game 4.

The Oilers were competitive on home ice on Saturday and may just be able to outwork the Avalanche with the crowd behind them again at Rogers Place.

Let’s kick off our Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche predictions by taking 2.6 for the hosts to oblige in regular time.

Edmonton Oilers Odds

Edmonton were level at 2-2 halfway through the third period in Game 3, with Connor McDavid and Ryan McLeod having lit the lamp.

Colorado came through to prevail 4-2 and secure a 3-0 series lead, but Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft was happy with the spirit shown.

“I thought it was a competitive hockey game,” he declared. “Some of the goals that went in against us were unfortunate.

“One goes in off of our stick, one goes in off a blocked shot and lands on someone’s tape and another one where a player comes out of the box where we just hit the post.

“So, those are tough ones, but our team competed to the very end.”

Goalie Mike Smith made 39 saves and added: “It obviously stings to go down 3-0, but it’s not over until you lose four.

“We’ve got to try and win one game and move on from there. The desperation level has to be at an all-time high.”

McDavid is the man most likely to lead any comeback and 5.5 for him to score two or more goals stands out from the Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche odds.

Colorado Avalanche Odds

Colorado have been ante-post favourites for Stanley Cup glory since the start of the season and look a good bet to end up justifying that tag.

JT Compher put them in front at 12:42 in the third period over the weekend, just seven seconds after Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard had hit the post.

Valeri Nichushkin had earlier hit a double and Mikko Rantanen completed the scoring with a late empty-netter.

“Our team is confident on the road and at home, it doesn’t matter,” declared coach Jared Bednar.

“We preach, regardless of the venue we’re playing and what kind of environment we’re playing in, it’s still the same details that we need.

“You have to be a little bit better on the road, obviously, because they’re going to get a little bit of juice from the home crowd.”

The Avalanche enjoyed a clean sweep against Nashville in round one and claimed three away wins in a 4-2 defeat of St Louis, so they are adept at playing on the road.

However, after losing forward Nazem Kadri to injury early on in Game 3, we’re hoping Colorado just look after themselves a little bit here.

Let’s add 13.5 for a 4-3 home win in regular time to our Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche betting tips.
