What Trueform says for West Ham vs Chelsea

West Ham enjoyed a welcome win at Everton last weekend but will find it hard to follow up with another victory when hosting Chelsea at London Stadium.

The Blues are seeking a sixth straight Premier League triumph and have talismanic playmaker Eden Hazard in sparkling form.

We reckon 9/5 for an away win and both teams to score is the way to go with our opening West Ham vs Chelsea prediction.

A Look At West Ham United’s Betting Odds

Manuel Pellegrini must have been relieved to see West Ham pick up their first points of the season when prevailing 3-1 at Everton.

Summer signing Andriy Yarmolenko put the Hammers in control with a first-half double and Marko Arnautovic also netted at Goodison Park.

“In football you are always under pressure,” said the Chilean manager, who was celebrating his 65th birthday.

“I have a lot of communication with the owners, of course they were not happy but they never have any doubt about what we are doing.

“I am very happy with the performance; first because this is a very difficult stadium to win, second because the players didn’t have any doubts.”

However, West Ham now face a tough run of matches which will see them meet Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham in three of their next four Premier League fixtures, so the respite could be brief.

The Hammers earlier conceded seven times in losses to Liverpool and Arsenal, so Evens for an away win and over 2.5 goals in the game stands out from the West Ham vs Chelsea odds.

Last West Ham line-up: Fabianski, Balbuena, Zabaleta, Diop, Masuaku, Felipe Anderson, Obiang, Noble, Rice, Arnautovic, Yarmolenko.

Pellegrini is hopeful Arnautovic will be fit after he was substituted in the second half last weekend with a knee problem.

Javier Hernandez (flu) is a doubt, while Jack Wilshere (ankle) is sidelined after surgery. Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Winston Reid remain long-term absentees.

A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds

Chelsea were undone by an early set-piece when entertaining Cardiff last weekend but recovered to secure an emphatic 4-1 success.

Hazard was again the star of the show with a hat-trick, taking his tally to five goals in three Premier League games, while Willian rounded off the scoring.

New manager Maurizio Sarri has set Hazard a huge target this term, stating: “We have spoken and I told him he can score 40 goals. He has to improve some things, but he can do it.”

Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are good strike partners for the Belgium ace, while summer recruits Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have caught the eye in midfield.

A Europa League trip to Greece won’t have disrupted Chelsea’s key players and they seem well-placed to keep the early momentum going.

The Blues are averaging a fraction under three goals per game, so let’s add 21/2 for a 3-1 away win to our West Ham vs Chelsea betting tips.

Last Chelsea EPL line-up: Kepa, Rudiger, Alonso, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Hazard, Pedro, Giroud.

Pedro is a major doubt for Chelsea after the Spain winger sustained a shoulder injury in Thursday night’s Europa League win at PAOK.

Eden Hazard and David Luiz missed that trip but the rested pair are expected to return against the Hammers, while Kovacic has a minor injury and may miss out again.
