Southampton vs Hull: Tigers to struggle away again

Kick Off: 1500, 29/04/2017

Stadium: St Mary’s Stadium

Hull continue their fight for Premier League survival at Southampton on Saturday, but the Tigers will need to improve on their recent away form to get anything out of this game.

Marco Silva’s side may have bagged four straight wins at home, but they head to St Mary’s Stadium having tasted defeat on their last five road trips.

Location has to be the key factor here and we’re taking 12/1 for Saints to win 3-1 as the first of our Southampton vs Hull betting tips.

A Look At Southampton’s Betting Odds

Southampton are coming off back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea, but there was a lot more to like about their performance when going down 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Getting Oriol Romeu back from suspension gave Saints more bite and balance in midfield, while Manolo Gabbiadini looked much sharper up front in his second game since returning from injury.

“It was a better performance than against Manchester City,” said Claude Puel. “But we conceded the goals in bad moments; after five minutes, just before half-time, just after half-time…this made the difference.”

Saints had beaten Crystal Palace and West Brom before those two tough fixtures, though, and are rated a cut above Hull, so 33/20 they win by more than one goal appeals to us.

A Look At Hull City’s Betting Odds

Hull stayed two points above Swansea in the relegation battle after showing great spirit to overcome the 25th-minute dismissal of Oumar Niasse when beating Watford 2-0 at KCOM Stadium.

The Tigers received another boost when successfully appealing against that red card and having the striker’s proposed three-match ban overturned.

However, despite picking up 19 points out of a possible 21 at home under Silva, City have continued to suffer from travel sickness and are yet to win away for their current boss.

On the plus side, they have at least hit the back of the net on three of their last four road trips, so 12/5 for Southampton to win and both teams to score takes the eye from the Southampton vs Hull odds.
