Stoke did at least end a run of four defeats when drawing 1-1 at West Ham on Monday, but Paul Lambert’s side really need more than just picking up individual points at this stage.
Peter Crouch pounced on a Joe Hart error to put the Potters ahead on 79 minutes, but they couldn’t hold on as Andy Carroll volleyed in a stoppage-time equaliser.
City are five points from safety, with just four games to play, but manager Lambert insisted: “We are still in the fight. There are a lot of hard fixtures for a lot of teams at the bottom, so it will be interesting. It won’t be for the faint-hearted.”

Stoke welcome back midfielder Charlie Adam from suspension, while full-back Glen Johnson returned to training on Friday following a groin problem.

Burnley had their limitations exposed when losing 2-1 at home to Chelsea, with the Clarets only scoring through a fortuitous deflection off Ashley Barnes.
“We’ve moved forward a long way, but there’s still a gap between clubs like ourselves and the top six,” admitted Sean Dyche.
However, Burnley had previously seen off Everton, West Ham, West Brom, Watford and Leicester, with three of those victories coming on the road.
Dyche insisted he was happy with his side’s effort on Thursday night and the hope is that they will now again find lesser company far more conducive.
