Bet on under 2.5 goals when draw specialists Fulham play Blackburn

Fulham are favourites to record only their second away win of the season when they take on struggling Blackburn at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Martin Jol’s side are priced at 3/2 to pick up all three points in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with the draw at 11/5 and a Blackburn victory at 9/5.

Rovers’ record at Ewood certainly points to a home success, with Steve Keen’s outfit losing eight of their ten league matches at their own ground this season.

However, Fulham’s quest for victory is likely to be hampered by their poor goalscoring record on their travels.

The Cottagers have mustered just six league goals on the road this season, which is less than half of Blackburn’s total of 13 at Ewood Park.

Fulham away games have featured just 17 goals in total, with nine of their ten matches containing fewer than 2.5 goals.

It is for this reason that Fulham have managed just one away league win all season and it could prevent them from adding to this total on Saturday.

However, Fulham’s lack of attacking success in away encounters does at least point to a game of few goals, not least because they are also tight in defence on their travels.

Fulham away games have featured just 17 goals in total, with nine of their ten matches containing fewer than 2.5 goals.

Although eight of Blackburn’s ten home games have seen at least three goals, the fact most of these have been scored by the visiting team means a bet on under 2.5 goals when Fulham come to town looks a safe one at odds of 83/100.

A successful £25 free bet on there to be under 2.5 goals when Blackburn play Fulham is set to return £45.75, with the free bet available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account.

Another good bet to consider is on the draw at half time at 11/10, with both teams demonstrating an ability to keep things tight in the opening exchanges.

The draw has been the result at half time in six of Blackburn’s ten home matches in the league and seven of Fulham’s ten away fixtures.

And with Blackburn struggling to win at home and Fulham proving equally inept at winning away, a draw also looks the best bet in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.

Given the likelihood of a half time stalemate, this makes a draw/draw in the half time/full time market an obvious extension at 4/1.

And with so few goals apparently on the agenda, a 1-1 final score at 5/1 is one last option to consider – particularly as this has been the result in three of Fulham’s last four away matches.
