What Trueform says for Fulham vs Watford
Fulham and Watford had their limitations exposed by the Manchester giants last time out and both managers may settle for responding with a draw at Craven Cottage.
The Hornets just shade things overall on our Trueform chart, but the Cottagers achieved the highest individual rating for their big home win over Burnley.
Putting everything together, we reckon these teams are evenly matched and 12/5 for a stalemate is our first Fulham vs Watford prediction.
A Look At Fulham’s Betting Odds
Fulham can obviously be forgiven for going down 3-0 at Manchester City and had previously shown encouraging signs that they can survive in the top flight.
Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged a brace in the 4-2 defeat of Burnley and netted in a decent 2-2 draw at Brighton, with Exeter beaten 2-0 in the EFL Cup in between.
At the other end of the pitch, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is high on confidence after being included in Gareth Southgate’s most recent England squad.
The 26-year-old said: “The call-up was fantastic. I was really proud of myself and everything I’ve done to get it. I have to keep trying to play well and try to get in the next squad.”
Last Fulham line-up: Bettinelli, Odoi, Christie, Mawson, Sessegnon, McDonald, Johansen, Schurrle, Jean Seri, Mitrovic, Vietto.
Fulham will be without Tom Cairney (foot) and Neeskens Kebano (ankle). Defender Tim Ream is back in training after a thigh injury but will not be fully fit in time to feature.
A Look At Watford’s Betting Odds
Watford’s run of four straight top-flight triumphs, plus an EFL Cup victory at Reading, came to an end when they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United at Vicarage Road.
Andre Gray’s well-taken finish on 65 minutes inspired a late rally, but the Hornets had been well and truly outplayed for the first hour of that match.
“Our heads were down at half-time but we wanted to go out there and give it our all,” Javi Gracia told the club’s official website.
“I think we did that, we can be proud of the second-half performance and it will probably give us a bit of momentum going into next week.”
The Hornets have shown enough to suggest they can respond in a positive manner and we’re expecting an end-to-end contest full of action at Craven Cottage.
Let’s add 23/2 for a 2-2 draw to our Fulham vs Watford betting tips.
Last Watford line-up: Foster, Janmaat, Cathcart, Holebas, Kabasele, Doucoure, Hughes, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray.
Watford report no fresh injury problems. Winger Gerard Deulofeu is closing in on a return to full training after an abdominal problem, but will not be rushed.
Midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah played for the under-23s side earlier in the week to continue his recovery from a serious knee injury, so could be on the bench again, but Tom Cleverley (Achilles) remains a long-term absentee.
Man City 3-0 FULHAM
WATFORD 1-2 Man Utd – Andre Gray
Head-to-head: Watford 1-0 Fulham, Fulham 0-5 Watford
