Kick-off: 1530, 16/04/2020
Stadium: RCOR-BGU Stadium
Energetik will aim to get back to winning ways when they kick off the fifth round of Vysshaya Liga fixtures against Gorodeya on Thursday.
The Minsk outfit surrendered their 100 per cent start to the season last time out, while Gorodeya made it back-to-back wins to kick-start their campaign ahead of the trip to RCOR-BGU Stadium.
This will be the third top-flight match between the two sides and it is usually a tight affair, with the home side edging to victory in four of the six league clashes.
We are playing it safe and have gone for the draw in the Home No Bet at 3/4 for our initial Energtik vs Gorodeya prediction, meaning you will get your money back if the hosts win in Minsk.
A Look At Energetik’s Betting Odds
Vladimir Belyavskiy’s side have made a superb start to the season to support what was their best showing in the Vysshaya Liga in 2019.
Energetik have yo-yoed between the top three tiers of Belarusian football since they were founded in 1996 and spent four seasons in the top flight between 2002 and 2005 before finally returning last term.
They equalled their best finish of 12th but gained the most points in the a single campaign in the top flight, earning 33 points.
Survival was probably the goal at the start of the 2020 season but three successive wins saw Energetik top the Vysshaya Liga until they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Torpedo Zhodino, who replaced them at the summit.
The hosts have been in fine form at the RCOR-BGU Stadium, winning five games in a six-match unbeaten run dating back to last season including two victories from two games this campaign.
The visitors have seen eight of their last nine away league matches involve less than three goals and with the home side usually coming out on top in this contest, we are tipping the Minsk team to win and under 2.5 goals at 3/1 from the Energetik vs Gorodeya odds.
A Look At Gorodeya’s Betting Odds
Gorodeya opened up the 2020 season with successive defeats before getting back on track with 1-0 wins at Belshina and at home to Dinamo Minsk.
Oleg Radushko’s finished in seventh in 2019, comfortably above the relegation zone but not threatening for European places so they will hope to push on this time around.
Sergey Arkhipov was the match-winner against Dinamo Minsk and Gorodeya have proved they will need to get on the scoresheet in order to get a result.
All four of their league matches have only seen one team score, while Energetik have not had both teams score since the opening game of the season.
With low-scoring matches in their away fixtures too, we believe this run will extend to five games of both teams not scoring at a price of 83/100 to round off our Energetik vs Gorodeya betting tips.
