Spurs will have not forgotten an embarrassing 7-2 loss to the German giants on home turf, when former Arsenal trainee Serge Gnabry netted four times.

Manchester City are already assured of advancing as Champions League Group C winners, so that may make them vulnerable when visiting Dinamo Zagreb. The home team can still qualify in second place if they prevail here and Shakhtar do not beat Atalanta, plus they have looked strong on home turf.

Holders Liverpool must survive a tricky trip to Austria to stay alive in the Champions League but are fancied to prove a cut above RB Salzburg. The Reds only just managed to shade a seven-goal thriller when these sides met on Merseyside, but looked a class apart early on that night.

Ajax are in pole position to qualify from Champions League Group H, as they only need to avoid defeat against Valencia to book a place in the last 16. The Dutch giants will also be keen to claim top spot in this pool, though, and that makes them a solid pick to see off Los Che in Amsterdam.

Chelsea’s home clash with Valencia in Champions League Group H was a tight and tense encounter and more of the same is expected at the Mestalla. These teams are locked together on seven points alongside Ajax after four rounds of fixtures and everything is still to play for in this pool.

Ajax have already beaten Lille 3-0 at home in the Champions League this season and the Dutch giants have repeatedly proved they travel well in Europe. Les Dogues have little to play for after picking up just one point from four outings in Group H and just seem a little bit out of their depth at this level.

Juventus are fancied to clinch top spot in Champions League Group D by seeing off main rivals Atletico Madrid at Allianz Stadium. The Bianconeri looked the better team during a 2-2 draw when these sides met in Spain on Matchday 1 and crushed Los Colchoneros 3-0 in Turin last term.

Jose Mourinho is expected to enjoy a successful first home match as Tottenham boss when Olympiacos visit in the Champions League. Spurs look well placed to finish second in Group B behind Bayern Munich after picking up seven points from four games, while the Greek outfit are bottom on one point.

Man City can wrap up top spot in Champions League Group C by seeing off familiar foes Shakhtar, having beaten the same opponents 3-0 in Donetsk on Matchday 1. This is the third straight season these teams have met at this stage, with the Blues claiming four comfortable wins in five previous encounters.

Tottenham were dominant when thrashing Red Star 5-0 in London but their opponents invariably look a different team on home turf in the Champions League. Vladan Milojevic’s side beat Liverpool and drew with Napoli in Belgrade last season, while they have already seen off Olympiakos this term.

Atalanta had the audacity to score first when visiting Man City but went on to suffer a 5-1 Champions League mauling in that match. La Dea will have to go on the offensive again in the return fixture at the San Siro, as they try to recover from three straight Group C defeats, but this looks a lost cause.

Chelsea deserve great credit for their 1-0 Champions League triumph over Ajax in Amsterdam, but that Group H contest could easily have gone the other way. The Dutch giants earlier had a goal ruled out by VAR for the tightest of offside calls and hit the woodwork in a frantic, tetchy encounter.

Liverpool ultimately made light work of what had looked a tricky Champions League trip to Genk when winning 4-1 in Belgium and are hard to oppose in the reverse fixture. However, their opponents did create some decent chances in that first contest and seem determined to be positive.

Napoli shaded a five-goal thriller against RB Salzburg in Austria in the Champions League and can come out on top in another open encounter in Italy. Carlo Ancelotti’s side prevailed 3-0 when these teams met in the Europa League at Stadio San Paolo last term, but the visitors can grab a consolation this time.
