Brazil vs Paraguay: Selecao to continue hot streak

Kick Off: 0145, 29/03/2017

Stadium: Arena Corinthians

Brazil may look to prove a point against Paraguay in this week’s World Cup qualifier in Sao Paulo after finding the visitors troublesome foes in recent years.

The Selecao were knocked out of the 2011 and 2015 Copa America tournaments by La Albirroja after losing out in penalty shoot-outs and needed two late goals to snatch a point from their trip to Asuncion 12 months ago.

The hosts have been on fire in recent fixtures, though, and they are fancied at 6/1 to prevail 3-0 in our Brazil vs Paraguay betting tips.

A Look At Brazil’s Betting Odds

Brazil have romped to seven straight wins in the South America World Cup qualifying section since putting former Corinthians coach Tite in charge, with that hot streak pushing them seven points clear at the top of the table.

November’s 3-0 defeat of Argentina and last week’s 4-1 win in Uruguay have put the Selecao firmly in control of this group and helped establish them as joint second favourites behind Germany to claim outright glory in Russia next summer.

Former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho did most of the damage in Montevideo with a hat-trick, but talismanic forward Neymar was also on target there and leads Brazil’s World Cup scoring chart with five goals in nine games.

Barcelona superstar Neymar can be backed at 2/1 to open the scoring against Paraguay.

A Look At Paraguay’s Betting Odds

Paraguay kept alive their hopes of reaching Russia with a 2-1 defeat of Ecuador last week and are currently in seventh place in this qualifying pool, just three points off fourth spot.

They led Brazil until the 92nd minute in the reverse fixture last March and have also taken four points off Argentina, including a 1-0 victory in Cordoba last October, so they are not to be taken lightly.

However, they did lose away to Peru, Uruguay and Bolivia when drawing a blank in front of goal on each occasion and do look short of star quality up front.

With Brazil in such dominant form, 3/4 for the hosts to win to nil is hard to argue against.
