Arsenal have found Bournemouth a tricky place to visit in the past, winning just one of their last four Premier League games at this venue.
However, the Gunners have already done enough in the early stages of this season to suggest they will be more reliable in such fixtures.
We’re taking 2.1 for an away win and over 2.5 total goals as our first Bournemouth vs Arsenal prediction.
AFC Bournemouth Odds
Bournemouth enjoyed a cracking 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on their return to the top flight but were predictably brought back down to earth at Manchester City.
The Cherries trailed 3-0 at the interval and a late own goal from Jefferson Lerma ended their second-half resistance.
“We played against a world class team that can execute in any given moment,” manager Scott Parker said.
“After the goals go in, you could be on the end of one but I was pleased with the team in the way they stuck at it with good endeavour, good personality and good courage.
“We can be pleased with that. Our season is not this. Man City away is not a team that will define our season.
“This is a game we need to analyse, of course, and we’ll do that and see where we can improve and get better. We’ll dust ourselves down and go again.”
Bournemouth will probably be on the back foot for much of this game as well but Arsenal are not as assured in defence as City.
A consolation goal is definitely achievable, so 4.33 for an away win by 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 appeals from the Bournemouth vs Arsenal odds.
Last Bournemouth line-up: Travers, Kelly, Mepham, Smith, Stacey, Cook, Lerma, Christie, Tavernier, Pearson, Moore.
Bournemouth will make a late call on striker Dominic Solanke due to an ankle issue.
Parker could hand a first start to Argentina defender Marcos Senesi but fellow summer signings Ryan Fredericks (calf) and Joe Rothwell (quad) remain sidelined, while Jordan Zemura (Covid-19) is not expected to return.
Arsenal Odds
Arsenal began the new season with a bit of a buzz about them after splashing the cash on the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
They kicked off with a nice 2-0 triumph at Crystal Palace and then outgunned Leicester 4-2 at Emirates Stadium.
All looked to be plain sailing against the Foxes after a Jesus double put his side 2-0 up in the first period but an early second-half William Saliba own goal spelled danger.
However, Arsenal now appear to have far more resilience and, aided by strong support from the stands, they soon hit back through Granit Xhaka.
James Maddison gave Leicester renewed hope of a positive result on 74 minutes but again the Gunners responded immediately through Gabriel Martinelli.
Mikel Arteta said of Jesus: “We know what Gaby can do. He scored two assists too and he’s feeling disappointed in that dressing room because he said he could have scored four.
“That’s the standard, that’s the mentality you want. To go to a different level, you need that mentality.
“I wouldn’t like to play against him. I’ve never been a defender but I can imagine they don’t enjoy it.
“He’s so mobile, so intuitive and he’s always sharp and pro-active to play in any moment at any phase of the game and he’s a real threat.”
Jesus has brought a winning mentality and new levels of intensity to the Gunners which should stand them in good stead.
Let’s add 2.15 for Arteta’s side to lead at half-time and full-time for the third straight weekend to our Bournemouth vs Arsenal betting tips.
Last Arsenal line-up: Ramsdale, White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Xhaka, Jesus, Martinelli.
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns. Reiss Nelson (quad) is the only absentee.
